On draft at the Funky Buddha, poured a hazy dark brown color with aromas of roasted ops note. Flavor is roasted hops, touch of citrus, and a bitter aftertaste.

On tap at funky Buddha, ok so this beer is amazing. I was worried that funky Buddha was all hype. Big roasty flavors, big hoppy flavor mix with the roastedness, bitter finish. The strong roasty flavor rocks.

Draft at Funky Buddha. Deep brown black, some faint light creeping through the corners. Respectable deep rusty beige head. Oily chocolate hop aroma. Fluffy unfiltered body, quite rich. Big, thick chocolate tones, quite roasty. A pretty solid example of the style, easy on the palate despite the specialty malt overload. Not overwhelmingly peppermint patty-like, but certainly still true to style. Very fresh. Quite sugary, the roastiness really makes this one close to a Stout.

Now this is suppose to be a "Black IPA", and if you are to close your eyes and taste this beer IPA is the first impression. Then your palate is attacked by a smooth roasted malt flavor, somewhat smoke-y, and then hints of dark chocolate. Seriously, this is what I envisioned a "Black IPA" to be like the first time I heard about the style, quite some time ago. I love the hop build and the roast-y malt backing is on point.

32oz growler for a tasting. Dark black pour, a little oily with a nice lacing. Aroma is hoppy, malty, and grassy. Flavor is packed with a good amount of hops with a nice malt backing. Very well balanced and enjoyable.

Brown to black in color. Funky hop aroma, citrus, black malt and a trace of coconut and pine needles. Medium bodied. Flavor is all roast and hops with the hops coming first and the roast leading through a long dry bitter finish.

Growler… Pours cloudy and dark brown (shines ruby red when held up to light) with a small, creamy, mushroom-colored head. The aroma is very musky (armpit funk) flanked by some very nice roasty notes. Medium-bodied and slick with soothing carbonation. The flavor is very roasty and bitter. Lengthy, burnt, bitter finish. Growler courtesy of hankchinaski!

Growler thanks to Kevin. Pours a near black with a small off white head. Nose is huge citrus and grapefruit hops, a bit suprising considering the hops used. Very dank which is also suprising. Hoppy up front with a strange and detracting asparagus or onion note middle is smooth and finish lightly bitter with very slight roastiness. A nice smooth Black IPA but the wierd vegetal note detracts.
