COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Double IPAs - you’re on notice. Small Axe Big IPA is a golden hued IPA that’s deceptively strong and full of tropical hop aroma. Cascade, citra, centennial, nelson sauvin, and nugget hops combine to form an aroma and flavor that’s straight up tropical, with heady notes of pineapple, orange, mango, guava, and grapefruit.

4oz pour at Churchkey DC pours a clear orange with some creamy, white head. Nose has some pithy orange, soap, mild herbs, a little lemon tea. Flavor is pithy, soapy, orange, pine. Full, pithy finish. A bit off.

Draft... This beer rocks!... Clear amber pour with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. Aromatic highlights are a medley of tropical fruits and a lightly musky undercurrent. Full-bodied with a fatty mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor presents a moderate level of tropical fruit and melon-driven bitterness. Well-hopped. Nice, crunchy malts. Near-perfect balance. A bittersweet, fruity, and then grassy finish. World class imperial IPA right here!

Pours a nice copper color with a minimal white head. Aroma is mango, passion fruit, pine and maybe (just maybe) some pineapple. Taste is all of the above in abundance! --- and perfectly blended. Those flavors run throughout the palate with an easy bitter finish. Alcohol lets you know it’s there, but in a very flavorful way.
