Originally brewed for Funky Buddha’s 2nd Anniversary Celebration.
For our original fall release, Funky Buddha decided to create a beer that strayed from the pumpkin mold, instead patterning it after this eponymous Thanksgiving dish. And here’s a novel thought: we actually brew it in the Fall as well, around November, so you can drink it at the same time that you’re tucking into your Thanksgiving feast. At nearly 8%, it’s a big, rich, sticky beer full of sweet potato and marshmallow flavor.

12oz bottle from burg326, thanks bro. Poured a slightly murky orange/amber with a smaller foamy mostly white head. Aroma/flavor is like some sort of Thanksgiving spice candle you’d buy at Yankee Candle and burn in your kitchen, if you’re an older housewife in the suburbs. Bigger bodied with strong tight bubbly carbonation and a scratchy finish. Meh, if this wasnt FB it’s rates would be way lower.

Sweet Sweet aroma of vanilla and caramel. Sweet but not unpleasant. Pours like a lighter brown ale, but the taste pops with deep burnt sugar, toasted malt and marshmallow. Sticky thick mouthfeel compliments the beer well.

Very sweet, vanilla extract marshmallow nose. Hazy apricot pour. Way too sticky and sugary. Medium body, but it seems more dense. Overall it came off as being a little artificial. On tap, Proof ProdFac.

Keg @ South Street, Naples. Deep Amber with a creamy white head. Attractive. Nose is very, very sweet. Vanilla Bomb. Cows tails candy. Butterscotch candies. Taste is similar. Sweet vanilla. A bit of Cocoa and caramel. Vanilla and marshmallow just dominates and makes it hard to pick out much else. Light pumpkin spice in the finish. Medium body, soft carb. Not my cuppa, but some will love this (fans of Southern Tier etc).

Pours cloudy orange-brown with a medium white head. Aroma is sweet and VERY vanilla. Taste is more vanilla & spices smoothing out to a crusty light malt finish. Overall it does give the impression of a sweet potato casserole, just not much sweet potato. Still very good. Funky Buddha doesn’t disappoint.

On tap at the brewery. Clear amber; a very good head and fine lacing. Aroma: sweet and spicy with a hint of sweet potatoes. Flavor: I wasn’t convinced by the aroma but the flavor is very nice. Lightly sweet, with some solid sweet potato contribution plus cinnamon and vague seasonal spicing. . O: unusual and sweet but nonetheless appealing and recommended.

Amazing put together for a beer that I didn’t know what to expect from. Totally tastes like sweet potato with some floral aromas. Some kind of pie like merengue in here as well. Finishes with a touch of bitterness along with some sweetness that isn’t overdone. Average carbonation. Tap at brewery.

Draught. Sweet, sugary, candy, yam like. Cloudy orange pour white head. More sweetness, sugar, sweet potato, spices - clove and nutmeg like.
