COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Originally brewed for Funky Buddha’s 2nd Anniversary Celebration.
For our original fall release, Funky Buddha decided to create a beer that strayed from the pumpkin mold, instead patterning it after this eponymous Thanksgiving dish. And here’s a novel thought: we actually brew it in the Fall as well, around November, so you can drink it at the same time that you’re tucking into your Thanksgiving feast. At nearly 8%, it’s a big, rich, sticky beer full of sweet potato and marshmallow flavor.

September 18, 2015. Bottle, shared by _angst_, thanks!
Light hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is malty, earthy, spicy and holds a good amount of sweet potatoes, some toffee notes, vanilla, nutmeg, apples, cinnamon. Taste is light to medium sweet and spicy. Finish is spicy with cinnamon, nutmeg, some vanilla notes, apples, earthy sweet potato notes with a touch of sweet malty toffee notes. Medium bodied, average carbonation.
Very drinkable, alcohol is well hidden, well made gimmick beer.

12 Oz bottle. This beer really taste like sweet potato casserole. And that’s my issue with Funky Buddha and similar breweries. It’s make a beer and fills it with artificial flavor. Any bartender can make bottom shelf liquor taste good, so we shouldn’t celebrate breweries who do the same.

355ml Bottle (Thanks Ompher) - Amber in colour. Pumpkin, vanilla, brown sugar and cinnamon feature strongly in both the aroma and the taste. Not really picking up much sweet potato which is perhaps a blessing as I am not such a big fan.

Bottled, thanks hackobock! Hazy pale orange, mid sized head. Cinnamon aroma. Sweet with medium-full body and rounded mouthfeel. Sugar, cinnamon, pumpkin pie and grass. Mid bitter finish. Well made and edgeless, if it is certainly not my favourite style.

Pours hazy orange with medium head. Aroma: pumpkin, marhsmallow, spices (cloves, cinnamon), orange, some hoppy herbs. Taste: malty, with a lot of orange and spices (again cloves and a touch of cinnamon), nuts, palate is medium-hoppy with a touch of mint. This is a very interesting experimental beer. The taste and flavor is pretty intense but at the same time also drinkable. Of course, no way to have more than one, but still interesting stuff.
