Bottled. Dark amber. Sweet and toffeeish. Fairly malty with soft, but mellow and syrupy mouthfeel. Low bitterness. Lacks hops and malt firmness.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 fiulijn (10421) - Como, ITALY - FEB 15, 2005
Amber color. Some malt and caramel features, some maltyness and alcohol warmth; I would say quite far from a Doppelbock.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 madsberg (7569) - Søborg, DENMARK - FEB 14, 2005
Bottled. Light amber coloured. Clear. Light brown head. Light malt, chocolate and sweetness in the aroma. Flavour of fruit and alcohol. Dosn’t have much to offer in the end. Quite thin bodied. Is too vague in aroma and flavour for my likings.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 NosirIwont (1586) - Aalborg Vestby, DENMARK - FEB 13, 2005
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2005 Bottle. Nice copper brown with a brownish head (gone quick). Sweetish, fruity and malty aroma. Flavour matches the aroma; sweetish, fruity and malty. Notes of alcohol. Notes of apple in the finish. Nothing special. I’m glad I found this on a sale (it was about to expire), because it’s definitely not worth the otherwise high price.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ungstrup (23975) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - FEB 13, 2005
An amber beer with a nice though collapsing off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel. The flavor is also sweet with notes of caramel, but also some notes of cowberries, as well as some alcohol running over the tongue. The mouthfeel is quite dry.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Jeppe (2633) - Ølbutikken, DENMARK - FEB 3, 2005
Pours amber colored with a foamy lasting off-white head. Sweet aroma of malt and some caramel with metallic tones. Malty and grassy flavor with strong pilsener character. Dry on the tongue. Some hints of alcohol and maybe some chocolate in the finish. Not very interesting and all in all, I find the beers from Fur quite disappointing!
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ThomasE (5176) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 31, 2005
Copper colour with big white head. Aroma is malty and sweet with some caramel and hints of alcohol. Malty sweet flavor but in my book it needs more alcohol, caramel etc.

Bottle from Lic Gladsaxe Dk. Copper color with a big white head. Light sweet chocolat malty aroma and a sweet caramel taste. Medium body and a sweet finish.

50 cl botle; Very, very bright clear with beautyful off-white head with good retention. The nose is sweet malt, alcohol and a little bit of bubblegum (but not enough to be off-putting). Taste is malty and on the sweet side as in a good bock, but with no real aftertaste - it lacks some of the caramel and subdued smokiness, seen in many German doppelbocks. Mouthfeel is thin for a bock and the carbonation is excellent. The brews from Fur are clearly of very high quality with no off-flavors or other problems, but it seems that lack some "soul", if you like. I think the brewers from Fur would benefit from not filtrating the beer as much as they seem to do.
