COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Fur Påskebryg is a top fermented beer of the English Strong Ale style. Clear and amber golden color with a full creme colored head which leaves nice lacings on the glass. Full flavor of dark malts and aroma hops that finishes in a good and bitter fresh hop experience. Brewed from 3 different types of malt - caramel malt amongst others - and both classic bittering and aroma hops.

50cl bottle. amber. very large thick light brown head. slightly sour, caramelly brown sugary roasted malty aroma. the sour note frigthens me - could be intended dark fruity stuff, or an infected brew. flavor : not infected.. brown sugar sweet, faint roasted malts, good milk caramel, milk chocolate, hops, very nice and well matched bitterness towards the end. a very well composed flavor. i didn’t think the alc. was so high. well hidden alc.

Amber color, eggwhite creamy head. Sweet arima, maltish and caramelly, toffee. Fat mouthfeel, sweetish toffee, maybe fudge, with good bitterness. Pleasant.

Quite malty aroma, which is positive, and sweet but a little bit sour. Appearance is typical english ale; not much for the head, but I’m unsure for the cleaning of my glass. The flavor is a repetition of the aroma, malty and sweet, a little sour, but there’s a good amount of alcohol-taste and moderate bitter hops in the end too. Palate is creamy and nice for an english strong. A very drinkable beer, enjoyable, but not unusual in any way.

50cl bottle. Pours golden/copper with a small white head. Nose and taste is very malty. Lots of caramel, toffee, bread and some grassy notes. Smooth and medium bodied. On the sweet side but likes the heavy maltyness. Pleasant and well made.

Clear orange/amber color with a fine white head. Aroma of fruits maybe nuts with a very sweet backing. Very sweet flavor with heavy malt and some yeast. Flavor contribution from yeast is too much a little spicy. Light body with a slightly bitter/metallic finish. A heavy beer for such a light body.

Doppelganger (1383) - Dry County, Arkansas, USA - SEP 13, 2008
Bottle, 2008 Pre-GBBF Chris_o Shindig. Used penny copper, white head. Ginger bread, compost, mint and rust aromas. Chewy metallic malt flavor, grassy, pepper. Not bad or deeply flawed, but uninspired, and doesn’t really take advantage of it’s strength to do anything fun.
