Poured from a cold bottle. Hazy golden color, medium white head, nice lacing. Sweet hop smell, slight mineral aroma as well. Mild bitterness on the initial taste with an increase of a bitter aftertaste.

The aroma is very malt-forward, lots of corn and hay notes. Interestingly enough I didn’t get any expected grassy skunky aromas, much sweeter smelling than I expected . The appearance is pale yellow with almost no head small head. The taste was a bit flat...I’m going to contribute this to not being fresh after shipping from Germany to the US. Hops were there but not nearly as sharp or crisp as I wanted. The finish was drier which saved this beer a bit for me. After such a sweet aroma and less than moving hop profile the finish had to be much improved for me not to call this a complete dissapointment. Thin mouthfeel but of course it is supposed to be. Not great but not terrible, would love to have a bottle closer to the source and fresh. I will try again if I have that opprotunity becuase a good pilsner is hard to beat.

Bottle from Total Wine, Sacramento. Pours clear copper with an attractive off-white head and a floral cereal aroma. There is a clean pilsner malt flavor with a pretty bitter finish. Typical rheinheitsgebot.

This is a pretty simple pils. The dryness is slight, just enough to make it not taste like a plain lager. Good.

50cl bottle: pours a clear pale champagne golden with a stringy lacing white head. Has a clean floral noble hoppy nose with some light pale malty undertones. Starts with decent fullness and light malty sweetness with crisp grassy hop flavor and light citrus before a smooth drier bittersweet finish. True to style and very drinkable.

Smells like crushed malts. Straw-colored, but with very little head. It has a white pepper taste and a sharp hop finish, but not much else. It does have a crisp finish that cleans out your palate when it’s done. Overall it’s fine, but not the best example of a traditional pils.

500ml bottle - $3.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours a pale yellow, stray-hued body with a tall, foamy, white head. Notable clarity. Sticky lacing deposit mark every sip, every gulp.

Smell: A big whiff of pilsner malts, with notes of grain, dough, and fresh honey. Touch of yeastiness. Light, zestful hoppiness.

Taste: Sweetish pils maltiness, with little hints of honey basted grains. In slides a yeasty dough flavor, but, then an addition of the clover honey. Snappy hop character, giving touches of spice and hop, with plenty of bitterness to balance things out and make the way for a dry, crispish finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.

Overall: It’s crisp, flavorful, pure, and delightful, offering up a satisfaction that seeps into your heart (and other internal organs).
