Swing top bottle at home. Pours clear brown with a medium, creamy beige head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is earthy hops, dates and figs with toast, cookie and caramel malt. Flavor is sweet malt, light hops and bitterness with a sweet finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Pours dark reddish brown with a big beige head. Aroma is sweetish with notes of slightly roasted malts. Taste is sweetish too with notes of malts, caramel and a hint of coffee. Very mild hoppy notes in the background. High CO2. A decent brew but slightly too sweet for me. (0,5 l bottle, best before 15 Nov 2014).

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkelbraunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, Karamell, leicht würzig. Geschmack angenehm röstmalzig, leichte schokoladige Noten, leicht würzig.

(bottle from Sparky, thanks again E!) Pours out a semi-clear reddish brown color with a towering cream colored head that settles to a nice medium cap with a lot of lacing. Really enjoyed being greeted with toasted grain, roasted nuts, cocoa (Co-Co Krispies cereal to be exact), and musty lager yeast. Not much else beyond that, but there doesn’t need to be when it’s this good. Somewhat reminiscent of a brown ale. Shades of Fitger’s Beaver Bay. Flavor doesn’t disappoint, with tastes of cocoa, toasted almonds, faint caramel sweetness, and toasted cereal grains on the finish which gently continues for quite some time. Mouthfeel is nothing short of perfect. Holy hell this is good.
