500ml bottle - $3.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours a chestnut brown body with some amberish tones present.

Smell: A smell of toasted hearty dark bread, incredibly faint roast flecks, apple skin, and old, dried herbs.

Taste: Soundly toasty malts, a little hint of dark caramel, though not particularly sweet hiding what seems to be some grainy pils underneath. Even a touch of roast in there. Faint, faint touch of apple skin. Dried herbal tone from the hops with enough bitterness to balance things out.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation. Reasonably smooth mouthfeel.

Overall: A decent dark lager.

Swing-top from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma is mildly sweet, darkly fruity and bready. Med body. Flavor is rather dry, tends towards dark brown bread. It has mild bitterness, but doesn’t seem very fruity after all. It’s really hard for me to describe in full detail, but there’s some bits and pieces I don’t understand. It all hangs together well tho, and it’s a really tasty drink.

Geht so. Test vom 18.1.2010, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,9,8,8,8,8 - 8,35

Bottle shared with MichaelBruch. Great, nutty aroma and colour like melted chocolate. Flavours of roasted nuts, dark bread and sweet dried fruits. Would drink this beer always again.

0,5 swing top bottle shared with McTapps. A huge and nice surprise. Full body with a great aroma reminding me some Guinness. Extremely quaff with an earthy aroma. Superb beer.

The color is dark, the head robust. It smells hoppy, roasty. The taste is roasty grassy. In the aftertaste it is grassy-bitter. Medium 11/8/7/8/9/8

I found this 500ml flip-top bottle on the cruise ship Celebrity Infinity on a cruise up the inside passage from Seattle to Alaska. Pours a reddish brown with a robust beige head and good retention and lacing rings. The nose is of sweet caramel malt and some nuts aromas. Medium in body and very smooth on the palate. The flavor brings on some ripe dark fruit and floral hops. . The finish is fruity and lightly bitter. Very tasty and enjoyable.
