A really enjoyable dunkel, malty and fruity, with toasted malt and some crisp sourness on the nose, and a long bready finish with caramel and liqourice. Simple but very effective. I could drink this by the liter!

Bottle. (trade w/papsoe) Presents itself with a nice, translucent, ruby body, and a beige, creamy head on top. Roasted, fruity nose with a little oxidized touch. Prunes as well. A nice aroma indeed. The flavor is a bit disappointing compared to the aroma, yet nice, with roasted malt, dried fruit, a little oxidation and and a little bitterness. Medium, slightly dryish mouthfeel. Roasted, slightly fruity finish with some coffee-like flavors and bitterness. Lovely dunkel. (071114)

Flip-top bottle: Reddish amber coloured, smaller, stable off-white head; sweetish-caramelly, a bit toasted-malty nose with a hopped background; delicate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; solid caramelly and aromatic hoppy finish. A good Dunkel from an excellent brewery..........

Swing top bottle. Malty, caramelly aroma. Malty sweet flavor with caramel, licorice and chocolate. Thinnish. Sweet but with just enough bite to make this beer pleasurable.

Bottled. Hint of chocolat in the aroma, also a bit dusty and carbonation smell. Dark brown color, light brown head, very nice lace. Sweet, light roasted, light bitter, hint of chocolat, not very strong flavors except for the sugar, bit thin soft. Made me think of supermarket beer but not a bad one this time.
