Bottle. (trade w/papsoe) Presents itself with a nice, translucent, ruby body, and a beige, creamy head on top. Roasted, fruity nose with a little oxidized touch. Prunes as well. A nice aroma indeed. The flavor is a bit disappointing compared to the aroma, yet nice, with roasted malt, dried fruit, a little oxidation and and a little bitterness. Medium, slightly dryish mouthfeel. Roasted, slightly fruity finish with some coffee-like flavors and bitterness. Lovely dunkel. (071114)

Flip top 500 ml bottle. Dark brown head thick and frothy. Brown body. Very smooth with a slighly chocolate taste. Low carbonation. Overall a good beer.

500ml bottle (BeerAngel.de)
Lovely rich reddy brown, small doughy head. Very grainy malty aroma, decent roastiness, and some curious sweet corners that I can’t quite identify. Pleasant carbonation, smooth full palate. Grainy husky taste, and again an somewhat orthogonal sweet component. The latter appears to be fruity, something like strawberry or, more likely, raspberry. Finish is fairly long, and very pleasantly bitter. Pleasantly full-bodied without sacrificing any drinkability at all. Went down lovely.

Dark amber with a large beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and overripe fruits. Flavour was sweet with roasted malt, caramel and toffee notes. Had some rye bread towards the finish. Not bad.

Bottle 50cl. @ home. w. swing top.
Light unclear medium brown color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, hay, roasted, dusty chocolate, light hoppy, dry grass. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20091017]

It’s mahogany-red with a huge, creamy head, and the aroma has notes of roasted malt, syrup, caramel and light cocoa. The flavour is moderately sweet to sweet with notes of roasted malt, caramel, nuts, syrup, light cocoa, and the finish is dry. It’s quite nice.

Lightly hopped Dunkel, brown appearance, cocoa and malt backbone blend well. Refreshing German beer with a long ass name.

Dark brown with a good tanned head. Roasted malts a cocoa in nose. Dark malts, chocolate and little hoppy in mouth. Good beer but not really a Kellerbier like it says in the label.

Flip-top bottle: Reddish amber coloured, smaller, stable off-white head; sweetish-caramelly, a bit toasted-malty nose with a hopped background; delicate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; solid caramelly and aromatic hoppy finish. A good Dunkel from an excellent brewery..........
