The Fürstenberg Premium Pilsner, one of only a handful of "Premium" designated premium beers in Germany and long thought to be the first German Pilsner brewed in accordance to the Czech Pilsner method has an alcohol % of 4.8. Water is actually taken from the source of the Danube river deep in the Black Forest!

From 330 ml bottle, poured a clear amber with a decent head and good carbonation. The flavour is driven by malt with little if any hop characters. Fairly thin and a bit watery, the palate is short. All in all, nothing too remarkable, but more than a match for many other macro lagers at your local. Really good value is also a plus.

Clear, pale straw body with a white head. Mild, light citrusy nose and not much depth of character. Light sweet notes and fairly understated bitterness.

Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!

Bottle from Fristo Getränke-Markt, Stuttgart. Golden color with huge white head. Aroma of malt, bitter hops, earthy hints. Taste, bitter hops, metallic hints, salt. Dry bitter finish. Drinkable, but not tasty.

Bottle 50 cl. Golden, clear with a shortlived white head. Aroma of malt and hay. Light bitter taste with a malty and citrus ending.

Tap? Golden colour with a medium lasting white head. Fine and solid sweet aroma of hay and cereals. Pleasant light malty taste with just a bit hops in it.
