COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Fürstenberg Premium Pilsner, one of only a handful of "Premium" designated premium beers in Germany and long thought to be the first German Pilsner brewed in accordance to the Czech Pilsner method has an alcohol % of 4.8. Water is actually taken from the source of the Danube river deep in the Black Forest!

I've tried it on tap and bottled...nice malty pilsener, but not enough hoppy for my taste.

Draught at The Bavarian Bier Cafe. Pours a clear medium gold, with a large white head, which lasts pretty well and leaves good lacing. The aroma has floral and spice hops and grainy malt. Spicy and light floral hops up front give way to caramel and white bread malt in the mid-palate. More spice finishes it off. A reasonable but uninspiring pilsner.

Nichts Besonderes.

Bright, clear yellow golden, medium white head. Nose is typical for industrial Pilsner. Wet plaster, grain, wee hops. Medium body, not watery. Bitter hops at first, with grass, grain and son herbs. Middle is increasingly bitter, grainy. Hoppy, bitter finish and hops, plaster aftertaste. Typical mass produced pilsener, but not bad of its kind.

Golden colored, moderate white head. Malt and grain with a hint of noble hops in the nose and flavor. Moderate noble herbal bitterness, dry finish. Low-medium bodied and strong carbonation, crisp. Just a decent thirst quencher.

Forte pétillance, amertume assez marquée, léger goût de céréales, et pis c’est tout. Un pils basique qui ne marque clairement pas les esprits.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks Ariel. Clear and very pale gold with a big white head. Vegetal aroma with some paper, papery, vegetal sweetness with some malt in the mouth. Light body, sweetish and corny finish.
