bottle from Bierzwerg. Clear brown colour, mid-sized beige head. Aroma of espresso coffee, quite intensive. Shy malty base with hints of cocoa and caramel, also coffee. Hoppy in the finish, nice espresso character overall, low carbonation.

Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!

Test vom 1.7.2010, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Bottle (thanx to Quack-Duck!): Chestnut-amber coloured, small, but stable lacy off-white head; caramelly to toasty nose with traces of milk-coffee; light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied; slightly increasing bitterness towards the caramelly finish, rounded by a dash of milk-coffee. Pleasant, undemanding brew.....

(bottle) Clear, dark brown colour with a ruby shine and a beige and short foamy head. Sweet earthy and toasty malty aroma with notes of caramel, chocolate and a tinge of vanilla. Moderately sweet and roasty bitter flavour, light bodied with a silky mouthfeel. Pronounced dark malt character with roasty notes, caramel, dark chocolate, mocha and shy herbal accents in the background; very smooth, mildly sweet and roasty bitter finish. A very nice and a bit Stout-like Dunkel. 14.VI.10

Bottle. Strong chocolate/molasses malt aroma. Dark reddish brown color with small head. Complex flavor - smoke, sour milk, chocolate, brown sugar. Light body. Not bad.

Medium head. Smoky hints of black coffee. Same applies for the taste: Smoked reminiscences of black coffee all around. Nice touch there. Surely not your typical Dunkel, but I can tell it seems to be elaborately made. Not too much info to be found about the brewery, though.
