1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
Really, to be honest. I am quite tough and I can down most beers -even the smokiest smoked beers you can imagine- easily, but this one was just one disgusting example which didn’t deserve anything better than the sink. Pours out in a cloudy amber-brown colour with a low head and thin body. Aroma of sour malt. Awful taste of sourness, acid, old nuts, dust and basement. Hints of something that smells like apes poo - disgusting.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass zippy, fruity aroma like syrup. Starts intense fruity, reminds me of course of sanddorn, but also quite sweet. I miss beery notes. Tastes like sweetend sanddorn-juice.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle by 11.12. I came to Sanddorn (sea buckthorn) relatively late in life but I’m happy to have picked it up - in cough drops, chocolate, and now beer. Extremely sweet, fleshy fruit nose, some malt but more herbal. Seems like it rests upon a Bitter base. Pours a dark orange-golden with a rocky white head. Taste is cloyingly sweet but that’s brought back to earth by the sharp tanginess. It’s straight Sanddorn for flavor, really juicy and fresh, maybe not as sour or bitter as it could have been, sugary with a little heat (from what alcohol?!). Lightly medicinal but not off-putting, and there’s a nice ring of oaken/wooden tones around the edges, once the berries have pulled back. Medium body, super super juicy. As in juice mixed right from the bottle. A bizarre tasting experience and one worth seeking out.
