Oakes (10191) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 2, 2009
Hazy light brown. Nutty, breadcrusty aroma, almost like roasted pork. Cocoa and breadcrust character. Probably a shade thin for my taste, it needs more sugars to bring out those tasty dark malts.

Draught, 5.5% at the brewpub. Weak sour rag aroma. Hazy dark brown colour. Nice stable, creamy light brown head. The flavour is better than the aroma, caramelly, perhaps a hint of butter, but not a problem.

Bottled, 1.0l. Hazy dark brown with a small, tanned and partly lasting head. Flowery, caramely aroma with chocolate, mild roastiness and some berries. Roasted-malty, sweetish flavor with milk chocolate and hints of toffee. Medium, silky smooth body with soft carbonation. A nice, tasty and balanced dunkel.
