COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
My goal in building the recipe for Fallen Apple was to create a seasonal specialty that was in and of itself a celebration. I start with fresh-pressed cider from early harvest apples we get from Kickapoo Orchards in Gays Mills. Fermentation leaves the cider tart and champagne-like. I then brew a cream ale designed to put some sweetness and body back into the beer, which rounds out the sour apple notes. This combination of ethereal apple flavor grounded in an ďeverymanísĒ beer makes for a festive and potent brew.

Bottle. At first it smells like the canned Budweiser my grandpa drank. After a bit it smells more like what it is, a cream ale with cider thrown in. Iíll call this an apple shandy made with nicely tart apple juice. However the juice tastes like the stuff from concentrate not fresh cider.

Pours a nice copper color with a small light head. Faint grainy apple aroma. Flavor matches the aroma with a little apple aftertaste.Nothing offensive...but nothing that stands out.

Smells like alcohol, apples, and ozone, in that order. Tastes like apples, ozone, and alcohol, in that order. Also some light malts giving it toast and porridge notes and balance out the apple sweetness. Body is maybe too thin, and carbonation too much.

UPDATED: OCT 16, 2008 Not big on fruit beers but this was awsome. soft smooth apple taste not very sweet. Those you like Strongbow should try this. RE-Rate Apple stays on the palate and lingers with the slight tart from the apple.

Pours a nice deep golden color. Smells like a hiar salon. You know when you walk by a Regis in the mall? Yeah itís like that. Hmmmmm, well it tastes kinda llike a flat cider mixed with some cheap lager. Not a terrible beer, but they definately make better.

Pours a transparent copper orange with a thin, clingy-lacing bone-white head. Aroma of semi-sweet pale malts and some lightly tart earthy fruity apple notes. Body starts semi-sweet with some caramel notes before a crisp, tart green apple presence dries out the finish and leaves some lingering pear flavors. Pretty well-balanced and an interesting take on a cream ale.

Pours a clear golden color with a white head. Light lacing. Aromas of Granny Smiths, and slight hops. Taste like cider/ Granny Smiths. A little tart and dry on the tounge.

12 oz. bottle via trade with tytoanderso - Pours a clear golden color with a medium size off white head. Light lacing. Aroma is a soapy, faint apple. Flavor is light apple, very light grain, and light herbal hops. Light to medium body. Worth a try. Thanks Tyler.

Buffed orangey copper in color with ascending bubbles filling a gray pin pricked head. Aroma revels in pencil shavings and red erasures to cover them up. Apples commingle with new gym sneakers for a synthetic aromatic agenda. Flavor comes in with such a suicidal effervescent fluff, itís hard to continue. In recession is the gentle hint of vanilla lemon biscuits for the delivery of the cream ale promise. Apple butter comes through softly, as if dusted with flower as it resides between the white dusting and sweet cornbread. White grape juice aspirations butt heads with the Motts, and the body is spastic at best. The recession accentuates a watery, honey, lemon and vanilla chamomile white tea arrangement, with only a tint of apple-grape spatterings laid upon over floured honeycakes in the finish.

Pours golden in color with a nice foamy dirty white head. Slightly malty aroma with a bit of apple. Not too much apple in the taste either.
