COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
My goal in building the recipe for Fallen Apple was to create a seasonal specialty that was in and of itself a celebration. I start with fresh-pressed cider from early harvest apples we get from Kickapoo Orchards in Gays Mills. Fermentation leaves the cider tart and champagne-like. I then brew a cream ale designed to put some sweetness and body back into the beer, which rounds out the sour apple notes. This combination of ethereal apple flavor grounded in an “everyman’s” beer makes for a festive and potent brew.

Aroma is sweet, ripe apples. Taste is really sticky sweet... not as much as a cider, but still a bit too much. This is mainly apple with a very mild bread undertone. Palate is dry and sweet, a bit too sticky for my taste.

Pours a cloudy copper brown with white head. Aroma is tart citrus/green apple. Flavor is similar to a chardonnay. Fruity, tart apple, citrus. Body is light with medium carbonation.

UPDATED: OCT 16, 2008 Not big on fruit beers but this was awsome. soft smooth apple taste not very sweet. Those you like Strongbow should try this. RE-Rate Apple stays on the palate and lingers with the slight tart from the apple.

Tap. Clear golden color. No head and only a small ring around the neck of the glass. Aroma is sweet and apple like. Reminds me of apple jolly ranchers. Taste is slightly tart like green apples. Fairly thin as that is all I realt get. Still reminds me of apple jolly ranchers. Could use some more carbonation. Just looks dead and lifeless.

Pours a lovely clear, orange-copper. Aroma is of apples. Tastes like a light pilsener into which some apple juice has been mixed. Not altogether unpleasant, but really not all that memorable, either.

12 oz bottle...pours an amber color small off white head...slightly sour aroma, yet clean.....the palate is thin/watery apple flavor....by the aroma I expected more

On tap, Muddy Pig. Pours a reddish-golden color, very minimal carbonation, no head to speak of. Flavor is light dry apple, somewhat ciderish, more akin to a chardonnay. Dry mild lingering tart apple finish. Light bodied, fizzy on the palate. Overall relatively decent, something different than the norm. I could see someone who doesn’t like beer enjoying this.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2009 Aroma: Apples with a lager-like grassy edge. Appearance: Pale amber-orange with abundant white head. Nice lace and effervescence. Flavors: Golden apples, tartness is there but rounded by worty malts, vanilla. Yummy, although the tart and the grassy hops aren’t well harmonized. Palate: Decidedly dry, just barely puckering. A creamy smoothness in the finish.

Pours copper with almost no head to speak of. Aroma is somewhat skunky and a bit yeasty, though there are some apple tones in there as well...a bit confusing! Flavor is somewhat odd and flat up front with some malt and corn flavors, with a dose of sweet apple in the middle, and then some bitter notes at the end...again, very confusing. Somewhat cider-like, somewhat beer-like, this one just doesn*t want to fit any profile. Palate is pretty mundane, though I*m not buying that this is a cream ale (though I know it says so on the bottle)...one is enough on this brew...

Kinda strange yet I kinda liked it. Like half cider and half beer. Apple was predominant and beer flavors take back seat
