COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
My goal in building the recipe for Fallen Apple was to create a seasonal specialty that was in and of itself a celebration. I start with fresh-pressed cider from early harvest apples we get from Kickapoo Orchards in Gays Mills. Fermentation leaves the cider tart and champagne-like. I then brew a cream ale designed to put some sweetness and body back into the beer, which rounds out the sour apple notes. This combination of ethereal apple flavor grounded in an “everyman’s” beer makes for a festive and potent brew.

UPDATED: OCT 16, 2008 Not big on fruit beers but this was awsome. soft smooth apple taste not very sweet. Those you like Strongbow should try this. RE-Rate Apple stays on the palate and lingers with the slight tart from the apple.

Is it a cider or a beer? Not a bad hybred brew great apple flavor, nice carbonation and a good amount of sweetness from the malts. I liked it, and it was a fun beer to drink

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2010 12oz bottle split with Ann. Filtered orange tan color. Pleasant apple juice aroma. Sweet cidery taste, sour. Some sweet maltiness in there but still dominated by apple tartness. Well balanced and non-artificial, quite refreshing. Excellent palate cleanser. The creamy tastes start to shine through as the beer warms.

Smells like apple juice. Slightly sour apple taste, granny smith perhaps? Smooth, not overally sweet, quite drinkable for a apple beer. Good stuff.

Clear amber, white cover. Aroma is a clash of sour apple and sweet corn. The taste is more pleasant, light tart apple most of the way through, then a finish of corn and sweet malt. These flavors do best when they don’t try to meld.

Copper color with no head. Spiced apple cider aroma. Tart apple right up front, but it quickly fades into a creamy sweet malt blend. The description of a cream ale blended with cider is pretty spot on: it tastes kinda like apples and cream.

TAP: clear amber pour, no head. Mild sour apple nose, cider taste with malt backing. I really enjoyed this.

apple juice colour with a medium white head. aroma is light apple and earthy biscuity malt. lively effervescent mouthfeel. Good tart apple flavour. The medium sweetness of the cream ale backs the apple and does help with body.

I’m a sucker for ciders, so this beer is refreshing change for fall beers. Not a huge aroma, but a slight apple aroma is present. Slightly tart with a refreshing bubbly mouthfeel. Granny smith apples taste combined with a light, creamy ale. Nice change for a cider lover.
