COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
My goal in building the recipe for Fallen Apple was to create a seasonal specialty that was in and of itself a celebration. I start with fresh-pressed cider from early harvest apples we get from Kickapoo Orchards in Gays Mills. Fermentation leaves the cider tart and champagne-like. I then brew a cream ale designed to put some sweetness and body back into the beer, which rounds out the sour apple notes. This combination of ethereal apple flavor grounded in an “everyman’s” beer makes for a festive and potent brew.

Found this cider beer comba at the Ba Runi. Smells a little like apple. Taste is of course apple cider with more apple than I expected. Lager beer fer sure in the background. Looks like pale lager. Borders on sweet, a little more sweetness than I expected for a cider like beer. I’m used to the dry ciders, now. Decent co2. Not bitter to say the least. Yes, just simply an apple falvored beer, not many of those out there. Finish is just plain apple lager even tho it says cream ale on the label.

Pours golden in color with a nice foamy dirty white head. Slightly malty aroma with a bit of apple. Not too much apple in the taste either.

Tap. Clear golden color. No head and only a small ring around the neck of the glass. Aroma is sweet and apple like. Reminds me of apple jolly ranchers. Taste is slightly tart like green apples. Fairly thin as that is all I realt get. Still reminds me of apple jolly ranchers. Could use some more carbonation. Just looks dead and lifeless.

Bottle from Capone’s. Pours amber straw color with minimal head and heavy carbonation. Nose is earthy apple, pale malt. Tastes dry, with notes of earthy apple, pale malt, and a very tart finish.

Bottle - Pours a clear golden amber with a fluffy white head. Not a lot of apple on the nose--kind of a sugary white grape/apple mix with some lactic sourness that almost borders on rotting. Not as crisp and clean as New Glarus’s Apple Ale, and must sweeter than something like Ephemere. The taste...I gotta agree with a previous reviewer that called this apple cider with some light beer mixed in. It tastes like a blend that didn’t quite integrate. The sweet/tart of the cider hits first, with the maltiness of the cream ale in the middle, and the apple peel and tartness lingering through the finish. An interesting mix, but one that ends up not working very well.

Buffed orangey copper in color with ascending bubbles filling a gray pin pricked head. Aroma revels in pencil shavings and red erasures to cover them up. Apples commingle with new gym sneakers for a synthetic aromatic agenda. Flavor comes in with such a suicidal effervescent fluff, it’s hard to continue. In recession is the gentle hint of vanilla lemon biscuits for the delivery of the cream ale promise. Apple butter comes through softly, as if dusted with flower as it resides between the white dusting and sweet cornbread. White grape juice aspirations butt heads with the Motts, and the body is spastic at best. The recession accentuates a watery, honey, lemon and vanilla chamomile white tea arrangement, with only a tint of apple-grape spatterings laid upon over floured honeycakes in the finish.

Blah. A boring fruit beer. Aroma was very weak. Could pick up a hint of apple if sniffed for a while. Pour was a medium gold with plenty of rising bubbles and a thin white ring for a head. Taste was like seltzer water with a mild sour apple aftertaste. Nothing more. Nice carbonation

Cloudy amber. Nose is caramel covered tart apple and sherry. Flavor is bitter, tart apple with wet malt. Bitter apple skin finish. Just not good.
