The conception and naming of this beer happened in one fell swoop. Unsure whether to offer a light session beer or a fun ball-buster as our warm weather seasonal, we decided on a beer that would be “a big, fatty boombalatty” version of a Belgian white. And away we went, taking a recipe for a white beer and ramping up the grain bill by 50%; we dropped the amount of wheat by 75% to keep the beer rough around the edges. We bucked tradition by steering the bitterness in the direction of a pale ale, and coupling hops with coriander in the fermenter. The resulting beer gives you all the bubblegum goodness of a big Belgian, with enough crispness to cut through the sweet profile, thus making you want to sip it again and again. Dangerous, indeed!

355ml bottle. Finally trying this. All I can say is it is straight phenols, nothing else, too one dimensional.

pours a rich clear gold with a frothy white head. The coriander really comes through in the nose. Taste is crisp carbonation with the coriander dominating. fairly dry finish with a little bitter linger. Pretty good.

This is an easy to drink beer. Crystal clear pour and light foamy head. Not too much in the way for hops leaves me wanting more from this beer.

My bottle had an extra thick layer of yeast and gushed a bit on opening but a careful pour yields a slightly cloudy orange beer with a voluminous and long-lasting head of small bubbles. This tastes as much like a big, juicy hefeweizen as it does a Belgian blond--- not that these styles are night and day. The nose is pretty mild with bread yeast and some grassy hop notes but this is one be where the motel really makes it come alive. It is creamy and just on the edge of overcarbonated which, along with some acidity, brings out the fruity character from the yeast. The finish though is unfortunately overly bitter which ends up making it taste a bit metallic. I think this is almost there but could use some polishing.

Bottle purchased and poured into tulip glass. Very little head on a deep orange hued ale. Actually a very attractive beer. Aroma has a lot sugar and fruit to it. Plenty of banana and even a little tropical fruit. Really easy to drink. The sweetness carries throughout tip to finish. An enjoyable beer to drink with a soft, Belgian finish. The type of ale you can drink an absurd amount of at St. Paul summer beer festivals.

Aroma is Belgian yeast, bubblegum and malts. The flavor is lemons, fruit, mild sweetness, malts and a mix of mild alcohol and tangy in the finish.

Pours a hazy medium orange. Medium fluffy white head. Fruity, citrus, orange, apricot, banana, Belgian yeast, coriander, clove, wheat. Some peppery spiciness, balanced moderate sweetness with fair bitter and dry finish. Medium body. Crisp. A solid, well-made beer.
