COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The conception and naming of this beer happened in one fell swoop. Unsure whether to offer a light session beer or a fun ball-buster as our warm weather seasonal, we decided on a beer that would be “a big, fatty boombalatty” version of a Belgian white. And away we went, taking a recipe for a white beer and ramping up the grain bill by 50%; we dropped the amount of wheat by 75% to keep the beer rough around the edges. We bucked tradition by steering the bitterness in the direction of a pale ale, and coupling hops with coriander in the fermenter. The resulting beer gives you all the bubblegum goodness of a big Belgian, with enough crispness to cut through the sweet profile, thus making you want to sip it again and again. Dangerous, indeed!

Pours a hazt straw color with fluffy white head that quickly fades. Aroma is of clove, yeast, belgian spice and with a touch of ginger. Taste is of clove, yeast, ginger and belgian spice. Alcohol is well hidden which makes this pretty damn drinkable!

12 oz bottle from tytoanderso! Nose of cloves, brown sugar, a little corriander, and yeast; very cloudy copper with a huge offwhite head; flavor has light sweetness, cloves, a little pepperiness, caramel, and a tiny bit of hops in the finish.

Nice spicy aroma with a good dose of graham cracker like biscuity malt. There is defintaly a decent amount citrus. A decent amount of depth to this beer, but it is kinda thin and lacking.

12 oz bottle. Poured a clear medium orange color. Head was two fingers high and white with good retention. Some lace was left behind at the end. Attractive aroma of clove, orange, and flower blossom. There was also a whiff of graham. Dry and and slightly fruity on the tongue with mild bitterness that peaked toward the end at about 3 out of 10. There was some clove, bland cereal grain, and ginger in the flavor. Smelled better than it tasted, but grew on me as I drank it.

Bottle. Deep brass colored body that is clear as possible with that color, topped by a quickly fading light khaki head. The aroma is obvious Belgian yeast inspired with clove, cinnamon and funky banana esters. The taste is lightly spiced with clove and tomatoes. A hint of metal sneaks in the falvor. There is a nice finish that sticks with you, like hay and ginger ale. The body is very light for the abv, this is scary drinkable.

bottle. Hazy pale yellow pour...smallish white head. Sweet malt nose...yeasty, musky, and light fruits. Medium bodied with a grassy yeasty flavor....more light fruits too. The maltiness remains throughout...maintains that belgian ale flavor to the end....nice attempt at a witbier.

12 oz. bottle via trade with tytoanderso - Pours a hazy amber color with a 3/4 finger off white head that faded fairly quick. Carbonation is light with long lasting tiny bubbles. Light lacing. Aroma is spice, esters, and light yeast. Flavor is light bready malt, esters, and spice. Medium body. A good beer. Thanks Tyler.

Pours a light amber color with a decent head that disappears quickly. Spotty lacing with a good amount of carbonation. Citrus and spice with a nice palate cleansing feel. This one was hard for me to figure out. Light body, easy to drink. The alcohol is hidden well in this one. I like the name though.

12/02/2007: Fatty Boombalatty pours a cloudy, dull orange color. It has an average-size off-white to beige head that dissipates a bit quickly and leaves a thin, frothy veil. The aroma is sweet and mildly spicy with hints of lemon, bubblegum, fruits, wheat, alcohol, and some sort of spices that I can’t put my finger on... Malt and fruit are balanced by spice and hops in the flavor. The bitterness escalates in the peppery and yeasty finish. Some alcohol is also noticeable as the beer warms up, but the balance is still in check with all the other flavors. Other flavors present include various fruits, creamy wheat malt, orange, citrus zest, and hints of sweet bubblegum. The mouthfeel of this medium-bodied beer is smooth goes down quite nicely. Overall this is a pretty tasty Belgian Ale with a hoppy twist in the finish that works well for this beer.

12 fl. oz. twist-off bottle from buckybeer. Thanks for the surprise bottle Mark! I really appreciate it! Rating #34 for this beer...
