Commercial Description:
The conception and naming of this beer happened in one fell swoop. Unsure whether to offer a light session beer or a fun ball-buster as our warm weather seasonal, we decided on a beer that would be “a big, fatty boombalatty” version of a Belgian white. And away we went, taking a recipe for a white beer and ramping up the grain bill by 50%; we dropped the amount of wheat by 75% to keep the beer rough around the edges. We bucked tradition by steering the bitterness in the direction of a pale ale, and coupling hops with coriander in the fermenter. The resulting beer gives you all the bubblegum goodness of a big Belgian, with enough crispness to cut through the sweet profile, thus making you want to sip it again and again. Dangerous, indeed!

Cloying aroma, with hints of spice. Taste is sweet: syrup, caramel malts, cloves, orange, banana, apricots, and allspice. Not too thick, not too thin. Alcohol peaks through in the middle but the finish is all sweet. Drinkable indeed.

On tap at State Fair. Very cloudy orange amber with a thin, tight white head. Sugary, spicy aroma. Flavor is a complex load of fruit zest, sugary malt, sweet fruit and a crisp hit of hops at the finish. This is good!

Orange pour with a quickly dissipating head and plenty of suspended yeast. Yeast, hop, and spice aroma. There is a little bit of everything in the flavor. Yeast, hop, fruit, spice, malt, and alcohol. The hop[ adds a lot of zestiness that electrifies the tongue at times. Bubblegum showed up after the glass warmed, a result of the yeast. So multi-faceted! New flavors in every other sip. Delicious, too!

(bottle) Pours a hazy orange with a small white head. The first thing I smelled was a strong scent of orange peel coupled with some coriander. A sweeter smell of apricot also appears. With further warming the beer begins to smell like a less potent version of de Dolle Arabier, and the hops begin to assert themselves more. Flavor is a little sweeter to begin with, but difficult to describe. There’s a sweet taste of orange, and another fruit that I can’t identify. The finish begins very spicy with coriander that then changes to more bready yeast and light bitter hops with a medium mouthfeel. I didn’t have too high of expectations before trying this beer, but it is really quite drinkable.

Bottle. Pours hazy yellow/gold with a medium white head, champagne like bubbles. The head diminishes pretty quickly. Aromas of citrus, banana, clove, yeast, pepper. Taste is very good, more citrus, oranges, more banana and clove. Good carbonation, finishes dry. I think I found a new, regular summer brew. Good stuff, I wasn’t expecting much, but pleasantly surprised.

Hazy golden color. Decent white head. Lots of citrus in the aroma. Flavor is sweet and spicy. Just how I like it. Pretty good beer.
