3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 starewich (118) - - JAN 20, 2013
The pepper starts as just a hint of spice jazzing up a plain pale, but it really accumulates and warms up the sinuses. Not at all subtle but weirdly balanced. A tasty drink for winter if you really love pepper. It would be fantastic with a good cut of meat.

this brew was tasty, but no so much that its going to be my ’go to pale’ as the label states. poured a dark beer. was very smooth. good brew. So black pepper is the ’spice’ I don’t see it.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2012 I think somebody spilled the pepper shaker into my beer. Interesting aroma, nice color, and smooth initial taste, but way too much pepper. Don’t think I even finished it.

I get all pepper pretty much, it overpowers everything else. Did not enjoy this but I applaud the attempt

Thanks to GhostFace for this bottle. Cheers, Neal! Pours a hazy amber with an off-white head. Nose is light caramel, maybe some biscuit, and some McCormick pepper shakers. Flavor starts off with some mild malt, but pepper and more pepper really refuse to let any other aspect come through. Medium in body and not my thing.

8/10/12. 12oz bottle thanks to cbfobes! Not clear amber pour with a nice khaki head that lasts and laces plenty. Light earthy hop presence in the aroma with some cracked pepper aspect. Plain bready malt flavor with barely a touch of hop and a definite metal twang. Eh.

Spicy citrus with some malt in aroma, complex and different. Hazy amber brown. Spicy pepper sweet rounded hops. Different, fun, but not my fav.

Too much black pepper in the nose and taste. I know that’s what is in it, but it’s just overwhelming for my palate. I didn’t get the hop notes that were advertised at all. I spit a 12 oz bottle with a buddy and could barely finish my portion. Unique...I’ll give it that.

Gold pour with a light fluffy head. Aroma is pretty lacking. Pale hops lead to a straight up black pepper flavor. Unique, prob great with steak.
