2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Surprisingly good given that it is full of black pepper. Balanced just right so that the pepper acts as the hop, without overpowering the balance.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Nearly opaque orange with a thin white head. Strong resinous fruity hops, apricots, black pepper, and bread. Taste is mildly sweet with a peppery bitter flavor. Body is medium with a foamy feel. I like the idea of the black pepper, but they seem to conflict with the choice and strength of hops.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Interesting one here. Clear amber with an off-white head. Nose of cracked black pepper, citrus, caramel malts. Taste is mild black pepper that doesn’t dominate but it rather well integrated. Caramel malt and some citrus hops round it out. Much better than I would have thought by just hearing black pepper beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured a slightly cloudy amber with a nice frothy head that faded slowly to nice lacing. Aroma was malty with hints of piney hops and black pepper. The taste was very interesting - malty up front and then movement into moderate hops mixed with a light peppery hue. Mouth was decent. Overall, this seemed like an amber/vienna with some souping up with the hops and pepper. Not too bad!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle @ Greg’s house picked up in the Midwest. Pours a hazy dull reddish orange appearance with a khaki head. Peppery, herbal, straw, spicy aroma. A bit tangy, peppery, somewhat bready, light caramel flavor. Kind of strange.

3.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20
Super sustaining head with such a presence of pepper in the aroma and pallete. Not too hoppy and gets better as you go but almost a novelty beer that makes your mouth water

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a ruddy, particulate filled brown - kind of looks like sewer water - with a puffy light tan head with significant staying power. Aroma is sweet with some spice mixed in - honey, malt, pepper...it works. Flavor is definitely a bit odd - a bit of a roller coaster between sweet malt and bitter hop, with a lot of spice at the end. Ends with a long, bitter finish. Palate seems appropriate for the beer - maybe slightly thin. Interesting drink - just not quite sure what this is supposed to be!
