COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black, cracked, stuffed in a sack, boiled and cold-infused. Weíve braided the assertive presence of hops with the stimulating character of fresh black pepper. Not so much a kick in the shorts as a hop loverís wake-up call, our Knot Stock might just become your go-to pale.

Pours amber with a bit of lacing head. Lots of pepper and hops on the nose make for a very interesting scent. The taste is spicy and bitter reminiscent of a rye beer. Overall it finishes a bit weak but is a great beer and I would have lots more

Pours an amber with a medium, light beige, lingering head. The aroma is interesting and unusual. It is more sweet and fruity, with orange, peach, pepper, spices, and honey. The taste is somewhat dry, while containing some slight sweetness and tartness. Pepper is most noticeable throughout. Spices, honey, and some slight lemon compliment, with an aftertaste of pepper at the end. Light to medium in body, with a thinner texture, while having average carbonation. This oneís uniqueness alone makes it definitely worth a try.

I think Iíd call this stuff an American amber. It pours an red brown color w/ a nice long lasting head but is definitely cloudy enough as to be unappealing. Nose is citrusy hops w/ a definite burst of black pepper. I am not sure I would have identified it as black pepper specifically if did not say so on the label but it lends a slightly piquant musk that melds quite well w/ the hops. This is a little sweet and a little bit tart. It has a creamy texture that combined w/ mild carbonation makes it come off as a bit heavy to me. I do like the combination of black pepper and hops but wish this was just a little bit lighter in texture and brighter tasting. Perhaps this same combination of flavors would do better in a hoppy American blond.

12 oz bottle from Baruniís in Baden. Cannot believe this exceptional brew is not rated higher. The peper flavor comes through pperfectly. Donít miss this one.

Bottle. Nearly opaque orange with a thin white head. Strong resinous fruity hops, apricots, black pepper, and bread. Taste is mildly sweet with a peppery bitter flavor. Body is medium with a foamy feel. I like the idea of the black pepper, but they seem to conflict with the choice and strength of hops.

Interesting one here. Clear amber with an off-white head. Nose of cracked black pepper, citrus, caramel malts. Taste is mild black pepper that doesnít dominate but it rather well integrated. Caramel malt and some citrus hops round it out. Much better than I would have thought by just hearing black pepper beer.

On tap at The Old Fashioned in Madison. Comes reddish brown with an average biege head. Aroma of malt, fruit, and spice. Taste is malt, citrus, spice, and caramel. Black pepper adds a twist.

Poured a slightly cloudy amber with a nice frothy head that faded slowly to nice lacing. Aroma was malty with hints of piney hops and black pepper. The taste was very interesting - malty up front and then movement into moderate hops mixed with a light peppery hue. Mouth was decent. Overall, this seemed like an amber/vienna with some souping up with the hops and pepper. Not too bad!

Bottle @ Gregís house picked up in the Midwest. Pours a hazy dull reddish orange appearance with a khaki head. Peppery, herbal, straw, spicy aroma. A bit tangy, peppery, somewhat bready, light caramel flavor. Kind of strange.
