Draft. Served at ABR. Pours a dark brown color with a light tan head. This one interests me as I am haven’t had too many brandy barrel beers before. Sweet dark fruit aroma with a little smoke. The brandy is slight but does change the overall flavor of the regular version. A touch boozy in the end. Overall, not bad but nothing too crazy.

On draught during the Minnesota Autumn Brew Review 2011. Pours an opaque dark brown colored brew with a creamy beige head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind a thin ring. Aroma of sweet VS brandy, a hint of apple, toasted dark malt and vanilla. Taste is medium bodied, smooth with a balanced flavors of light stout, vanilla and brandy. Finish is semi-sweet, smooth with a lingering light brandy aftertaste. The oak barrel and brandy infusion brings this special release out of the dry stout character but still memorable.

Pours to a black/dark brown body with a thin brown head. The aroma is apple brandy with a light charred black patent. Flavors of dry roasted malts with overtones of apples, oak, and brandy. Dashes of creosote here and there. The sweetness from the barreling is prevalent. Medium full body with a carbonated but velvety feel. Not sticky from the sweetness.
