awautlet (37), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Jan 9, 2008 Updated: Jan 12, 2008Gorgeous reddish amber in color with a creamy tan head. Lots of citrus on the nose. On the palate there is a lot of spice; coriander, nutmeg and hints of cinnamon. Then follows the citrus. Malty on the back palate followed a long bitter finish. Alcohol is masked well. A new great find from Furthermore! hopdog (4444), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 25, 2008 12oz bottle. Poured a deeper ambersih color with an averaged sized off white head. Lots of suspended floaters. Aromas of fruitiness, herbal, toffee, yeast, and bready. Tastes of toffee, fruitiness, and some candi sugar. Some spices came out as the beer warmed (especially in the aromas). Alcohol content well hidden. Flyer (92), Hartland, Wisconsin, USA Mar 2, 2008 Creativity is one of the most important things I look for in a brewer, and Furthermore is starting to climb up my list. This strikes me essentially as a brown ale, which is usually another way of saying "boring" -- but not in this case. It looks absolutely beautiful in the glass, with a ruby brown color that really catches the light nicely. Fair head. It has a great toasty malt character and a wonderful bittersweet brown sugar undertone throughout. And yet surprisingly dry and crisp, with a mildly hoppy finish. Highly recommended. Skyview (2657), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Feb 17, 2008 Since this beer is not available in Minnesota, I had to travel to Madison, Wisconsin to acquire this new beer from Furthermore. Picked up a six-pack of 12-oz bottles from Ryan’s House of Wines in Madison. Pours a dark copper amber brew with a decent beige head that is quite thick and lumpy that slowly dissipates to a fine film and an off-white ring. Some spotty lacing after the dissolve. Aroma of white pepper, some flowery hops, sweetened caramel malt, and a touch of dried bananas. Taste is medium bodied, some carbonation with alcohol presence, caramel malt, some flowery hops, dry Baker’s chocolate, white pepper and a touch of dried bananas. Taste is semi-dry, a long metallic bitterness in the aftertaste with flavors of white pepper, dried bananas and some caramel malt. At first it is hard to make of what this beer is all about. After the first glass full, one can get used to enjoying this brew. Gurst (281), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Apr 3, 2008 Sweet, strong smell of caramel and alcohol. Taste delivers much the same with additions of melon, grapefruit, flower, flour, and resinous wood. Powerful alcoholic kick pairs well with a medium body.
