Commercial Description:
With all its complexities, this beer is, at its core, a play between the fragrant and dusty flavors of an unique yeast blend on one side and the bright hops (40 IBU) and stimulating black pepper on the other. The heavy grain base leans toward malted wheat with just enough black malt to give a color backdrop for the late addition of a fresh red beets extract. The beets boost fermentation with simple sugars and adds a funky-ass hue to the dirty brown base. If the color wasn’t dirty enough, the yeast blend sure sullies things up; a wheat yeast, two different brettanomyces strains, and a lactic acid bacteria bring flavors that reach to the heavens while at the same time being reminiscent of the dirt on the bottom of your shoe.

( 12oz bottle thanks to bu11zeye) Pours medium brown with excellent head and lacing is good. Nose of spices, coriander. Taste is sweet, heavy spices, unbalanced, finishes creamy and well carbonated. An alcoholic finish is present as well.

12oz bottle. This is one bizarre beer... Spicy, slightly funky and lightly fruity aroma. Black pepper coated pineapples. Some earthy black dirt, mushrooms, dried leaves and tree bark. There is an herbal essence to the aroma as well. Something close to chopped cilantro maybe? pours a thick, deep brown with a sustained frothy khaki head. Flavor initially presents some fruity yeast esters. Spicy bread dough. White and black pepper. A substantial earthy characteristic. The pepper really asserts on the finish. Slight tartness throughout. Some toasted nuttiness towards the finish. What a unique beer... quite bizarre, but somehow all of the quirky ingredients work well with each other. Well done!

( 12oz bottle ) Pours a brown body (can see the pepper flakes) with a medium fizzy beige head. A complex aroma of beets, black pepper, pine, roasted grain, caramel, and other spices. Flavor of beets, black pepper, wheat, delicate brett, and caramel malt. A nice experimental beer.

Bottle from bu11zeye. Clouded orange. It smells like leather and my lawn. Cinnamon, corriander, and pepper flavors. Burning vegetable-esque aftertaste.
