COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our rendition of a Dry Irish Stout, circa 1890. Deep roasted malt is what makes a stout a stout, and years ago the fire of the kiln would have added its distinct smoky flavor during the roasting process. Three Feet Deep rekindles that lost flavor with a small addition of peat smoked malt. At 14.4° Plato, this is not a heavy beer, but you wouldn’t know it as the round and earthy quality of peat fills your senses. Our stout is a return to County Cork and the warmth of the Irish hearth.

Erzengel (2399) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - DEC 12, 2013
(5.4.2011) --> Noten: 12,6,10,3,1,6 - 6,50

Pours a nice deep brown with a solid tan head. Smells a bit smoky, earthy, very much like dirt. Some caramel. Taste is earthy toasted malt, some moderate smoke flavor, and a caramel finish with an earthy bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark brown and tan head. Delicious roasted aroma and hints of the smoked malt. Very tasty dry stout, the smoked malt adds a great dimension to the flavor. Dry, not too heavy but very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Backlog of ratings. Thanks to someone at one of bu11zeye’s tastings. The smell is malts, roast, toast, and ok. The look is brown to black in color, thinner tan head, and dark. The taste is oily malts, chocolate, sort of smooth, and more roast.

Bottle. Pours dark with tons of roasted malts on the nose. Some bitter chocolate, most roasted malts and a nice amount of peat defines the flavor. Pretty thin palate, solid beer.

Aroma is dark fruit, roasted malts, coffee and a small hint of smoke. The flavor is dark fruit, roasted malts, coffee, mild but lingering smokiness and a mildly tangy/acidic finish.

Pours a dark brown with a decent bit of tan head that doesn’t stick around for too long. Aroma is heavy on the roasted malt. What sets it apart from others of the style is the hint smokiness in the aroma. The taste follows quite well. The sweet cream of the taste is complimented well by the subtle overtones of smokiness that aren’t overpowering but make for something different. The finish is a bit astringent due to a bit of salt and the roastiness Overall a pretty good stout. Would definitely enjoy again soon

Pastor (796) - Skowhegan, Maine, USA - DEC 28, 2012
Smoky roasted aromas, creamy mouthfeel with a slight malt sweetness in the flavor. A solid Porter would drink again. Most defiantly the smokiest dry stout I ever drank. If you don’t like smoked beers stay away

Bottle. Black pour with tan head. Smells of earth and smokey wood. Tastes of the same with light sweetness. Decent dark beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
