Tasting at the 18th Mondial de la bière, June 9, 2011. Blonde pale straw, small head. Aroma of dry hops, slightly fragrant, a few notes of herbs. Taste quite hoppy, dry herbs with hints of barley, pleasant bitterness. Very pleasant as a session beer!

Bottle from Cross Stobs Bottle Shop, Barrhead. Strong citrus for this light golden ale. A good beer for its type.

My Bottom Line:
This crisp Golden Ale’s herbal hop resins produce enough bitterness to balance out a swift pale malt brush, creating yet another fine quaffer for this brewery.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam skirts the pale blond.
-It’s rather amazing to this Canadian that one brewery can bottle three Golden Ales which are quite similar, but when they are all this impressive, I guess it’s impossible to complain.
-The finishing hop bitterness is quite lengthy.
-This is another Kellerbier-like flavor profile from Fyne Ales. Num num.
-No need for complexity when you’ve got such a wonderful presentation of straightforward coupled with high drinkability.
-Hops are also citrusy once in a while.

Cask (gravity) - The Fat Cat, Norwich. Loose, medium sized white head atop a clear golden yellow body. Peach, tangerine and a decent lingering lemony hop bitterness with a splash of lime. Lovely sweet and juicy citrus & floral hop aromas. Good peppery notes running throughout. Light to medium body, good carbonation, quite firm on the palate. Finishes with a lingering bitterness and a light dryness.

Golden ale with slight haze. Some head. Smells like American hops - maybe citra. Pine and grapefruit nose. Bitter and long-lasting finish. Structure and texture as expected zingy finish.

very pale yellow, faintly hazy and few bubbles straw and aroma hops on the nose that i first thought was a bit skunky thin body and slightly fizzy not fun, exciting or interesting at all, but a great all around drinking beer. slightly more hops than piper’s gold nice

Half pint, cask conditioned ale at Guildford Arms. Fragile white tophead to an almost, clear golden body. Aroma of fruity hops and toffee malts. Sappy, tropical fruits in flavour featuring lemon and grapefruits. Smooth herbal hops to the ending. Well-composed brew (Edinburgh, 29.11.2010).
