500ml brown bottle. Light yellow colour, unclear. Very creamy white head with good staying power and some nice lacing. Aroma has some lemon and grapefruit notes, also nicely floral. Flavour has a nice malt profile, some bready notes. Nice hop presence as well, tangy grapefruit and grassy bitterness that carries into the aftertaste Light to medium body, lively carboantion. Tasty, light and refreshing, would be a good session beer.

(bottle) Slightly hazy, pale golden colour with a blond medium-sized foamy head. Citric and mildly flowery hoppy aroma with delicately zesty notes. Moderately bitter and shy sweet flavour, light bodied with an almost crisp mouthfeel. Dry pale malt-character with a good dash of fruity and slightly flowery aroma hops; dry and bitter finish with fruity hops. Fyne, fyne. 02.IX.11

Bottle: A bit unclear, pale greenish-golden coloured, mid-sized stable&lacy white head, leaving rings on the glass; moderate to solid grapefruity-herbal hoppy nose, pale-malt underneath; soft, almost medium-bodied; robust bitter-sweet flavour; dry aromatic citrussy and hoppy finish. Great! Wow, what a session beer.....

In short: A clean and crisp blonde ale with a fresh floral character. Superb thirst beer
How: From a bottle at Mondial de la Bière 2011
The look: Clear blonde body topped by a small white head
In long: The moderately hoppy nose evokes freshness with its floral hops, a walk in the garden. Body is crisp pale malts, crisp half-dry hay sensation. The hopping evokes dried flower petals and light citrusy notes. Bitterness level is in the mild-medium range and the finish is moderately dry. Pleasant clean and crisp mouthfeel. Certainly not the most eccentric beer out there but it just “tastes right” and the flavors scream freshness. This is a beer I would make an everyday beer, one of the best straightforward thirst Golden Ale/Blond Ale that I have ever had. Of course this is a beer that needs to be super-fresh to be really enjoyable, we probably were lucking with the timing when got the bottles for the Montreal Mondial. I’ve enjoyed some cask conditionned session British beers in England but before tasting the Fyne Ales bottles I thought that England micros were not able to do interesting thirst beer in bottles. But now I stand corrected. I can also sit corrected. And lay down corrected. There is not a position I cannot take without being corrected. I’m wrong all the time.

(Rating #3738)

Bottle. Hazy golden, fluffy white head, nice lace. Very pleasant aroma, floral and citrus, subtle pale malts. Orange blossom aromatics, field flowers, arrowroot pale malt flavour, very dry finish. This really surprised me, very tasty!

Slightly hazy pale gold beer, tiny white head. Softish dry palate. Mild orange - tangerine - grapefruit marmalade. Bitter aftertaste. Ok but a tad too dry.
