Half, from cask @Craft Beer Co, London. Black with a mahogny glow. Thin yellow-blond bubbley top. Cherry syrup and dark choclate on the nose. A refreshing whiff of fruity acidity. Taste has a restrained chocolatey malt character. Noticable bitterness. Weak, but genuine cherry flavored. Slick in the mouth. A certain tartness in the finish. A pretty good one.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell, London, 23 Nov 2011) Reddish brown colour with foamy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dried fruit, caramel and sour cherries. A hint of cinnamon? Malty, roasted taste with oak wood, vanilla, sour cherries and a bitter-sweet finish with a touch of chocolate. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Interesting and quite different. Not everyone will like it, but after some contemplating I found it very nice.

Cask. Dark with red highlights. Very flat in appearance with virtually no head. The nose is sweet, cherry is absolutely present. The taste is acerbic. An initial rush of cherry sweetness is then balanced with the smoky flavors of the stout. The palate is too thin for my liking watery. This is an interesting conversation piece, but I don’t like it all that much. The jekyll and hyde flavoring needs to resolved.

Cask at CP&K. It pours dark ruby, with a decent beige head. The nose is bitter-sweet, sweet cherry, caramel and roasted malt. The taste is caramel, resin, sweet cherry, roasted malt, tangy fruit, touch of smoke, leather and wood, with a bitter-sweet finish. Medium body, soft carbonation and slightly syrupy mouth-feel. Ok, but not my sort of thing.

Cask at the Craft Beer Co., London. Pours dark brown with a huge, light tan head. Sour dark malt nose, with some dough and tart cherries. Nice flavor, medium sweet, with mild roasted malts, tart cherries definitely, some tart and borderline sour dark malts. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation, very smooth. Decent if moderate cherry character in the finish, slightly tart, with some dark sugars. Not bad.

Craft Beer Co. Cask handpull. Too dark cherry too hoppy and its the hop that gives it up here. Love Fyne ales but if you want a sweetish dark cherry and dark choc beer then hops are too much for this beer. Good condition good beer. Sweet dark cherry but too much hops that dont marry with the sweetness.

Cask conditioned Handpump Salmon Leicester. A near black coloured beer with a ruby hue, and a tight off-white head and lacing. A really good stout with great cherry flavours. A good length. The cherries really work with the roasty malts. A top tasting beer.

Cask @ The Bon Accord. Very dark brown colour, reasonable head. Chocolate malt aroma. Unusual spicy flavour with cherry aftertaste. Not normally a stout fan but this is a good one.

Cask at Malt unt Hops. Pours dark and stouty with a nice white head. Smells remarkable. Confuses the nose and tongue. Pronounced cherry and chocolate oin a nice malt tableau. Cherry cola bottles. This is pretty delicious but but as Ben mentioned previously, I wouldn’t imagine wanting too many more of them.
