3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Scopey (1659) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 29, 2012
Cask at CP&K Brighton. It pours deep brown, with a thick beige head. The nose is caramel, brown bread, salted caramel, gravy and weirdly enough something that resembles cat-litter. The taste is bitter, leather, roasted malt, touch of chocolate, caramel, burnt tire, meaty, charcoal and toast, with a long dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. So-so.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 evergreen0199 (961) - Northwood, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 9, 2012
Cask at Euston Tap, London. A dark red/black coloured pour with a healthy beige head on top. Roasty, chocolate, dark fruit aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, caramel, dark fruit, a little dry. Not bad but certainly not Fynes best effort.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Leighton (4100) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 19, 2012
Cask at The Prince of Wales, Aberdeen. Pours clear, red-brown with a tight, creamy tan cap. Gorgeous aroma, all sweet chocolate, roasted malts, hints of burnt earth. Decent flavor, though not as good as the aroma. Quite a bit of burnt wood, burnt toast, and burnt grass in the flavor. Light to medium sweet. Light to medium in body with fine, smooth carbonation. Dry, gritty bitter finish with charcoal, burnt grass and rubber, subtle bittersweet cocoa. Decent beer overall.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 BeerCast_Rich (1202) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 15, 2012
[cask at Cloisters Bar, Edinburgh] Deep reddish-black, with a tight cream-coloured head resembling a pint of Guinness. There’s a fruity aroma, reminiscent of the Vital Spark, and some chocolate on the nose from the malt. Tastewise, light coffee edge before a lot of blackcurrant and blackberry fruit come out, along with some faint vanilla on the end. Like all of their beers, it’s very dry, and very sessionable. At 4.2%, the body is never going to dominate – but the mix of flavours on the aftertaste more than make up for it [08022012]

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Benjii (2410) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 9, 2012
On cask at Cloisters. Pours a dark brown colour with a decent, light tan head. Aroma of pine, roasty malt, chocolate and coffee. Similar flavours with mild carbonation. Tasty.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 AshtonMcCobb (937) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 9, 2012
On tap during launch at Cloisters, Edinburgh. Pours opaque black with a fawn cream head. The nose has interesting notes of blackcurrant and blackcurrant leaf against a delicate dark chocolate note. The taste has more of that blackcurrant intermingled with the expected coffee notes. The palate has a lighter than expected body, with a creamy texture and a clean finish. Overall, this is not what I expected - a good beer but is it a stout. They have their own style - I thought the Sublime was closer to a black IPA, but very good, so maybe they just don’t do really creamy beer.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 dantheman278 (980) - SCOTLAND - FEB 8, 2012
Cask at Cloisters launch event. Reddish black pour, thick tan head. Nose is big red fruits, chocolate roast, hint of coffee. Smooth sweet roast, hint of chocolate, long roast finish. Very nice.

Cask by handpump at The State Bar, Glasgow - pours reddish black with a small tan head and roasted malt aroma, quite sweet for a stout, well balanced and smooth to drink, I like this one
