3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ferfie (174) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 4, 2012
It pours a clear, light amber, with a fluffy beige head that is gone within a minute. It does leave some nice lacing though, but you can see right through this beer. Smell is really light citrusy hop, not grapefruit or anything acidic, more sweet citrus, but it’s pretty subtle (in terms of the sweetness). Definitely get a caramelized aroma from the malt, kinda makes it seem like a peach or apple kind of note. It smells pretty clean and pleasant, but not very complex. Taste, definitely get a peach taste, like under-ripe peach; sweet, but not super juicy, and just barely tart. Toasty malt flavour, offsetting the sweetness nicely, and it blends well with the hop bitterness that is pronounced enough in the finish. The mouth feel is really nice for a light bodied beer, it’s real thin and has enough carbonation to keep it interesting, and I think it suits that nice hop bitter finish too. Stupidly easy to drink.

Pours a golden colour with a thick, lacy, white head. Aroma of floral hops, grass, dough and some caramel. Flavour of floral hops, citrus, strong malts and hay. Very smooth bodied, slick mouthfeel and a bitter, light citrusy finish with a malty tone. Flawless bitter.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 tombyars (689) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - DEC 15, 2011
Tasted this at the Paisley Beer Festival in April 2002. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear garnet in colour with a thin white head. Slight hint of berry fruit in the short malty aroma. Thin but refreshing mouthfeel and good lacing. Mixed malts give a fiery digestive biscuit base with tart redcurrant fruit present. Strong hop resins present in strength in the metallic tang to the dry aftertaste. Finish is rather dry with oak cask notes and crushed grape skins. This is not a Scottish 80/ but more of an English ESB in style. A decent session bitter none the less.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 reebtogi (1575) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 13, 2011
500ml bottle pours a slightly cloudy golden orangeish color with about a finger and a half of white head settling down to some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is light caramel malt and some earthy and citrusy hops. Taste is light caramel sweetness with an enjoyable earthy and citrus hoppy bitterness. Light to medium in body and fine carbonation leave a pleasing tingle on the palate. Nicely balanced, but just a tiny bit light on the body. Overall, this is a pleasant, easy drinking bitter.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 presario (3977) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 11, 2011
Bottle. Amber with a fair head and lasting skiff. Light golden ale scent. Thin malt and a hint of spice. Mouthfeel has a bit of a spritzy feel to it. Gentle spice rolls from front to back and lingers. Malty with caramel and toffee when you look overtop of the hops. Leaves me wanting something a bit more.
