COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Seasonal, Winter;
An antidote to Christmas. No strange spices, just a really good stronger beer with a crisp fruity hop flavour and plenty of malt. A refreshing beer to clear the palate.

Bottle, Baxters outlet, Selkirk. A big, robust brew, good sweet malt and plenty of hops on the palate, thick off-white head, long lingering finish. Lovely!

Cask at the Euston Tap. Pours clear amber with medium, white head. Great earth and light pine hop aroma with some citrus and malts. Sweet, toasty malts in the flavor, with nice, earth and mild citrus bitterness. Medium in body with average carbonation. The balance of this beer is a highlight. Finishes great with a clean bitterness, further mild sweetness and some lingering earthen hops. Excellent beer.

Bottle at Appellation Wines we wish you a hoppy Christmas tasting. Pours a golden colour with a thick beige head. A nutty aroma with caramel and Weetabix malt also. Similar flavours of chestnuts, roasty malt and a little coffee to finish. Moderate carbonation and a little CO2 prickle. Fairly bitter and very drinkable. Nice.

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2011 More grapefruity on the nose this time. The palate is lovely and rich in the beginning and middle and just the perfect refreshing bitterness. What was I thinking! Original Rating 16/03/11 = 5+3+6+4+11=2.9 50cl bottle. Pours amber with a good head. The nose has gentle pine aromas. The taste is grapefruit against a background of sweet maltiness. The palate is medium-bodied with a creamy texture and a sharp refreshing finish. Overall this is an enjoyable balanced beer.

[500ml bottle, Appellation Wines, Edinburgh] The antidote to Christmas? It would explain the lack of major spicing in this one – it pours a copper colour with a decent white head. Aromas of hops and a slight whiff of smoke. Fruity hops on the palate, good balance of malt, slightly smoky dry aftertaste. Not a Christmas beer, more a year-round drinker. Another great session beer from Fyne Ales [17122010]
