Very very pale pour, geez, looks like bud light! Impressive hop aroma. Light citrus, light pine. Greatlight pale malts. Awesome hoppy finish. Wow i wish i had this available all the time. Quite possibly one of the best session ales ive had.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask air pressure at Euston Tap. Gold clear thin lasting white head. I had this straight after the Avalanche which I like very much so this has a lot to live up to. Yes some lovely hop. Yes indeed the hop is very tasty. Some tasty malt but I do get the very merest hint of butter. Big bitter hop on end is arresting to the mouth though. Touch of white pepper.

UPDATED: FEB 29, 2012 On cask at Cloisters. Pours a light golden colour with a thin white head. Fruity aroma. Quite hoppy. Lingering bitterness. A very nice session bitter. Also had this in bottle in Dunoon. Pours a golden colour with a thick white head. Quite bitter and very tasty.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A golden blonde ale with a thin white head. In aroma, light sweet malt with faint herbal hops, light peppery notes. In mouth, a smooth biscuitty malt with crisp almost German hops, not bad, refreshing but a little boring. Bottle at Mondial 2011, June 10, 2011.

Sample at Mondial 2011.
Appearance : Clear pale yellow with a small head. Lots of lacing.
Aroma : Clean citrusy hops with nice malt. Really fresh. Floral and leafy.
Taste : Citrusy hops with nice malt. Citrusy fruity finish.
Palate : Soft carbonation.
Overall : Very clean and crisp. As elegant as the good German of Czech Pils out there. Very drinkable and very refreshing. Very impressive.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasting at the 18th Mondial de la bière, June 8, 2011. Blonde straw, no head. Slightly hoppy aroma, hints of honey and peaches. Hop flavor is very dry, with hints of herbs also dry, good bitterness. This is good, drinkable but nothing special!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
4 oz pour from bottle Mondial 2011. Pale yellow pour, thin veil of white foam. Aroma is quite hoppy with a crisp grain aroma. Taste is slightly sweet, a touch of honey before a clean bitter hop finish that is moderately bitter. This beer is all about balance, and I would love to try a fresh pint or six someday.

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2011 My Bottom Line:
This smashing Golden Ale’s crunchy cereals and citrusy hops merge for a simple and highly effective session brew.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam lasts atop the misty hay blond.
-This is as great a quencher as their Jarl is. Great job!
-The crispness and hop character combine for maximal drinkability.
-There are so few light Golden Ales of this caliber around here. I’d have this (or Jarl) in the fridge all the time if I could.
-Hops also add herbal, spicy nudges once in a while.
