3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at Old Nunís Head- 17 June 2013. People who whine on about boring brown bitter would do well to check this out. Lovely balance between the malts and berry notes. Would have loved a 2nd pint had I not had to be somewhere else.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
500ml bottle from Morrisons. Pours chestnut red with a nice slightly off white head, Thought I detected a hint of coffee in the freshly opened botte but this quicky disappeared and was replaced by dark fruits. Flavour was slightly bitter fruits with leaves in the mix. Slight thin oil feeling in the mouth with subtle carbonation. Gets even nicer the further down the glass you get. Nice, flat bitter finish.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml bottle from The Real Ale Warehouse, drunk 28/03/13. Clear copper. Pours thick cream head, collapsing to good covering that lasts well. Med carb. Aroma - Toffeeish malt, lightly roasted grain and sweet, dark fruit. Little bit yeasty. Taste - Lightly sweet; rounded caramel and faintly roast malt. Caramel sweetness blends well with the lightly fruity hops. Some nice, light hoppy spiciness. Little bit metallic. Some yeastiness. Lightly bitter-sweet, clean finish. Good balance. Little aftertaste. Med body. A pretty decent, darkish bitter, though the slight metallic & yeast taste can be slightly off-putting, and it doesnít quite satisfy; might be the lack of a significant hop aftertaste.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUL 12, 2014 500 ml bottle. Aroma is brown sugar for me, quite pleasant. Nice brown/red colour with an off white head that retains quite well. Taste has a slightly medicinal note like cough syrup, also coffee and toasted grain. Medium sweetness and medium bitterness. The first time I tried this I thought the sweetness of the malt dominated the hops but second time it seems to be more hoppy. A pleasant ale though.

2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
A lively light chestnut bitter from fyne ales. This ale is not particularly strong, but is a pleasant drink, with a light cream to tan head this beer is a simple dark bitter. It has a subtle fruity aroma but is overpowered by malt and hop. Unfortunately the fruit has no role in the beer but the hops and malts compliment each other very well to make an overall good bitter.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at Three Tuns, Dronfield - Ruby colour with your standard bitter head. Light slightly floral nose, some brown sugar. The taste is very much of a classic bitter. Some caramel, nuttiness. A bit rustic, nice dry finish. This pint plays it straight as a bitter, though thatís not a bad thing. it was very well put together.
