Cask at Craft Beer Co. on 2nd July 2011. Reddish copper with thin white head and initial lacing. Fruity, spicy and pungent aroma. Delightful combination of hop and smoke in-mouth; smoky bitterness continues into a long and enjoyable finish, on a zingy mouthfeel. Excellent.

Cask at the Euston Tap. Clear auburn pour with a light, white head. Bready malt nose with brown sugar and roasty chocolate. Rather sweet, nicely, with toast, light caramel, faint citrus and earth bitterness. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Finishes sweet and drying, with a nice, roasted malt character and some earthy, lightly sticky hops. Good brew.

Dark and malty and a hint of smokeyness. Robust body makes for a very pleasant winters drink.

Bottle from Green Welly STop, Tyndrum. Good attempt at an 80/-. Red brown colour. Aroma of malt, peatsmoke and caramel. Tasty. More hop evident in the finish than (say) Belhaven 80.

Light brown body with a massive 3” crown that’s stupidly long lasting. Aroma has slight soap, nice leather, with an abundance of yummy hop, even getting the odd hint of chocolate. Very nice so far. Great bitter flavor, nice earthy malts, awesome leather. What ells do you need in an English bitter?? Is that peach I’m tasting, because if it is…………………….At room temp beer got watery, but still good. I like this beer a lot, it is good.

Bottled, from Brownlie grocers in BIggar. This is a crackin beer, I suppose it’s like an 80/- only with more hops. Nicely balanced palate, good hoppy finish, good stuff!
