Cask (Thomson’s Bar, Edinburgh) - Dark brown with red tinges. Liquorice, coffee and roasted malt in the aroma. Liquorice, fudge and coffee feature in the taste. The finish is rather roasted.

Cask at NERAX. Deep chocolate black pour with tan bubbles. Aroma is grassy, cocoa and roast. Bit of coffee too. Taste is initial malty chocolate and hay etc, followed by a complex roast and hop finish. Smooth and full bodied. Not as sublime as the name suggests, but a very nice and complex stout.

Brown, dark. Slightly toffeeish aroma with a lot if brown sugar fruitiness. Rich, toffeeish, plummy, w a dash if alcohol. Delicious, another hit from Fyne.

Cask at CBC Brixton. Pours a dark amber brown with an off white head. Aroma is a bit sweaty, a little cheese and a hint of coffee. Medium body, mild carbonation. Lots of licorice, also treacle, rum, dark fruit, coca cola, a little woody, fairly mild bitterness. Nice enough. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750ml bottle from Appellation Wines, shared with jeevan and the Mrs. Pours dark brown, thin beige crumpet of head. Good coffee aromas, pine hops in there too. Taste brings chocolate sweetness, more pine and citrus bitter. Creamy texture and medium to full body. Nice one to finish the night on.

Bottle from "hannont". Colour...light brown with no head. Nose...lightly roasty and nutty. Palate...truly sublime. A smidgen of roastiness and hops with bits of nuts.

On tap @ Borefts 2013 This is a deep dark brown one, light cloudy in the glass with a bubbly sidesticking beige top. Smells of light tarmac, dark sweet malts, caramel fudge and some chocolate wrapper. Quite enjoyable nose. It’s above average on the carbonation and it has a oily mouthfeel. Light roasted and almost lactose sweet flavors. Quite well bitter with a minty almost toothpaste touch over it. Some biscuits in the finish. Actually a bit interesting and not bad tasting at all. 28.09.2013

Borefts Beer Festival 2013. Dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of pine and citrus, with roasted notes and toffee. Sweet caramel and licorice flavour with a hoppy finish and a hint of diacetyl
