2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Nuffield (3347) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - JUL 21, 2012Wow--many more favorable ratings here than I thought there would be. Brown with ruby/red hues. Very bubbly head, loosely formed. Massive attack on the palate with the first sip--first coffee, and then bitterness. Lightly astringent, watery, hot (abv not controlled). Aromas remain hop inflected, toasty, and obvious alcohol. Totally out of whack beer, it did nothing for me. (cask at the Scottish Real Ale Festival, Edinburgh, June 2012)

Bottle @ deans crappy music tasting. Aroma is roast, some hops, slight sweaty note and citrus. Flavour has a slight weird sourness, roast, something unplaceable. Every sip I like it more.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 jmgreenuk (1273) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAR 1, 2013
Bottle at Deanso’s crappy music tasting. Poured a deep mahogany with a broken tan head. The flavour is bitter with lots of liqourice, a little sour which sticks in the palate and into the aftertaste. Not quite what I was expecting but an amazing beer.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 worldbeertaste (1117) - Lancashire, ENGLAND - MAR 1, 2013
Deep dark brown with a red tint and a lasting beige somewhat lacy head. Smells of citrus hops grapefruit, roast, and caramel malt. Medium oily body with faint carbonation. Tastes of roasted malt, liquorish bitterness with a strange amount of sour hops. It’s a stout IPA. The hops mixed with stout is new to me.
