Deep ruby red with a head that really lasts. Fresh hops on the nose, sweet malt around the edges. Fresh paint if you really huff it. Hops again, followed by a bit of treacle and burned toffee, bit of roast; delicious. hops stay with you, burnt toast to finish. Bit of vanilla throughout?

Cask at Cloisters. Dark reddish brown, creamy tan head. Roast malts, chocolate, hint of raisin nose. Palate is chocolate front, more ashy malts and a big, slightly citrus hop bitterness in the linger. Awesome.

Cask by handpump at State Bar, Glasgow - pours clear very dark red with a nice creamy head, aroma is roasted malt, taste is chocolate with a hint of caramel, very smooth, I’m not normally a fan of stourt, but this is a nice drink if too strong to be a session beer
