4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: SEP 29, 2013 Courtesy of Ben. Thx! 75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBSG II. BBF 25/05/2015. Truly beautiful label. Hazy orange with strangely absolutely zero head. Nose is orange, passion fruit, hoppy but more fructose sweet than hop bitter, sweet mandarins,… Taste is same sweet fruits bit slight bitter marmalade and orange peel in the back, toffee and light pine, hint of soap,… Not much carbonation. Bit more UK than USA. Quite an enjoyable IIPA with a far too cocky name. //// Had this again, cask @ Borefts 2013, very fresh, great stuff, even better. Upped the score from 4.1 to 4.4.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Fancy 750ml bottle from Great Grog. Been saving this one for a special occasion. Why not Christmas Day? Rich golden amber colour, good head. Aroma of tropical & citrus fruits, resin & biscuit. Dry hoppy citrus fruit flavour. Dry citrus aftertaste. More a big strong golden ale rather than a double IPA but none the worse for that.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On cask. Clear amber, nice white head. Aroma of citrusy hops and malt. Taste is grapefruit bitterness, zest, some pine and hoppy goodness. Very drinkable at 7.5%. Have to say it probably needed just a tiny hint of sweetness to pack more of a punch, but I liked it a lot. Another top beer from Fyne Ales.

[on cask at 2012 FyneFest] New double IPA from Fyne, debuted at the 2012 FyneFest. Biggest beer they have made to date. Slightly hazy golden amber. Apricot and peach aroma – flavours of sweet apricot, dried fruits. Tropical – plenty of mango in there as well. Leads into a subtle bitterness, finishes reasonably sweet. Great beer – Fyne have recently raised their game with their IPA’s – this is no exception.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask @ Bow Bar, Edinburgh 200712 Alc 7.1%
Amber, clear, thin creamy head, good lacing
Aroma - citrus and resinous hops, sweet juicy malts
Taste as aroma, alcohol well hidden, sweet malts but not cloying, nice sweet grapefruit zest. I like the malts in this - nice sweet IPA, not oversweet with soft bitter hops
Palate - soft carb, medium body, oily but not over viscous, nice sweet zesty citrus linger, finish does get bitterer with the drinking, nice pithy bitterness but still sweet. It’s a sweet DIPA.
Overall - I really like this one - too easy to drink at 7.1% . Nice juicy citrus resinous hops and juicy sweet malts which aren’t overly sweet and cloying
