330ml bottle from The Beerhive. Bubbly tan head disappears quickly, a little lacing. Very dark body. Nose full of coffee and roasted nuts, a little chocolate and vanilla. Flavour is creamy coffee, dark berries and dark chocolate on the finish. Mouthfeel is a little thin but still manages to have richness. Medium carbonation. This is a great beer, well balanced and ridiculously drinkable - no hint of the 6.9% in the taste.

Tan head pitch black colour and a solid viscousity. Noses of coffe, bitter chocolate, roasted malt and dark toffee notes with hints of dark sugar syrup. Slick texture with a faint livelyness fading quickly into a full body with some well balanced sweetness and bitter roastyness. The finish is a short but harmonic coffee/chocolate bitterness fading into a lasting pleasant roastyness.

UPDATED: APR 11, 2014 Bottle 330 ml at home, into a snifter, ABV 6.9%. Thanks to Lonick for this! Totally black pour on the body, brown head, bigger than one finger, with good retention. A foam island along with big bubbles remains on the surface after the head has collapsed, plus some light lacing around the glass. Aroma is mainly of liquorice and coffee but there are some nice chocolate notes as well. Taste also of liquorice, light chocolate, a weird acidity, roasted malts and a very bitter aftertaste. Medium body, good carbonation that you feel, quite dry palate. Overall a good porter.

Bottle. Nice chocolate and dark malt nose. Rather light in body, easy drinking, nice flavors but for the abv not a whole lot of punch. Decent.

Almost black color with a off-white medium head. Aroma is roasted malty with hints of coffee and chocolate. Flavor is like aroma with a moderate sweetness. Low to medium carbonation and a medium body with a roasted malt finish.

Bottle. Pretty much black. Aroma us quite rich, almost imperial in its treacly quality. Fairly thick creamy body. Lots of chocolatey depth, dark and delicious. Not much nuance beyond that, but some good dessert beer quality.

Bottled 08/03/14. A black beer with a disappearing beige head. A strong porter with high bitterness. A bit of acidity on the nose. Oily consistency. Boozy dark fruits. Decent.

Tap at t’Klooster, Delft. Poured a murky dark brown with a thin tan head. The aroma is liqourice, roasted malt, sweet fruit and a hint of dark chocolate. The flavour is medium bitter with a smooth dry hop spicy bitter palate and short bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Really refreshing beer with some lovely hoppiness in the palate. Well balanced indeed.

Bottle from the beer hive. Pours black with small brown head. Slightly soapy nose with roasted coffee. Medium body, lightly carbonated. Sugar and caramel. Fuller taste than abv suggests. Good stuff.
