Cask @ The Bon Accord. Hazy pale golden yellow colour, good head build cereal citrus aroma. Bright fresh citrus biscuit flavour. Bitter aftertaste. Not a Hefe Weizen. Somewhere between a lager & golden ale.

This is the Fyne Munster Lager. Not a German Hefeweizen but a Dortmunder / Helles. Cask @ Bon Accord. Clear golden colour, off-white head. Nose is grainy, citric, fresh. Flavour is citric, grainy, grassy. Short, dry and crisp finish. Great stuff in a hot summer’s day.

Cask at Cloisters. Pale orange/amber with a big frothy white head. Bready nose, some caramel and slight hefe character. Palate is some caramel, hints of vanilla, some black pepper spice with a very subtle hop finish. Not sure if it’s really a Hefeweizen, but still a great beer.

Special for Jocktoberfest at the Black Isle Brewery. Pours a blonde colour with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel, grassy hops and yeast. Similar flavours. Quite yeasty overall with some light black pepper notes.
