3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bought at the bierkoning in Amsterdam 33CLbottle.
Bottle, pours black with a thin light tan head. Cocoa, dark malt, and a slight sourness. Dark malt, a smokeyness, and a lightly sour/salty finish, maybe a little briney. Carbonation is low with a silky mouthfeel. I think the oysters are more pronounced in this that other oyster stouts I’ve had and it’s nice.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma has strong notes of fruits, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, roasted malt and a bit of wood, leading to a dry finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: AUG 16, 2014 First rating 9/11/2009Little yellow rim, good imitation of B.C."H.", over black beer with some orange highlights. Pungent smell of goat cheese. If there’s oysters in here, those unfortunate mollusks must hail from the infamous Ordralfabétix shop, I’m sure. Roasted malts... really not inviting. After some serious venting, roasted-sweet flavour, turning to bitter, partly roasted, partly hoppy. Faint coffee flavour, finish again slightly sweeter, but again some cheesy upsurges. Pretty demure. Creamy, near velvety MF, if well-carbonated, despite the lack of visual proof hereof. The nose really was unappetizing. Rest is way better, if certainly not great. Was: 4/4/6/3/12/2.9
Second rating 16/08/2014Huge dark greige head, lacerings, black beer. Smoked, as in smoked ham, mineral, but not fishy, sorry, oystery. Smoked, again cured meat, dried ham, and in the finish, yes, seawater; Medium bodied at least, slick, even a bit oily. Not bad. More a smoked than an oyster stout.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a cellar temperature 330ml bottle into a chalice.
Appearance: Pitch black body, with a small tan head.
Aroma: Roasted malts, milk chocolate, espresso coffee, burnt raisin, and blackcurrant.
Taste: The malts are toasty, with a slight milk chocolatey hint. There is a bitter hoppiness after, along side a dark coffee flavour. The aftertaste is a very bitter coffee, with tobacco and dark chocolate flavours.
Mouthfeel: Medium to heavy in body, with a oily texture, and a mildly warming alcohol feel.
Drinakability: The taste is very bitter for a stout but it adds something different to it. The flavours are interesting and well balanced. This is a good beer from a promising brewery that I would drink this again.
