3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours with minimal head. Very dark, almost black chocolate color. Mild carbonation typical for style. Actually fairly light body, less than what I was expecting. Smell of coffee, very light chocolate. Taste of coco, a hint of hops in there, a really pleasant coffee/coco aftertaste that lasts for some time. Have I had better stouts? Sure, but this one is a nice brew.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is very earthy, with toasted malt upfront. Flavour is similar, with notes of toasted malt, earthy notes, and oats. Solid stuff, with an oaty palate. Nothing special, but well-made.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle to goblet
Aromas of coffee, roasted malt, and dark chocolate, and milk. It pours a silky black with a 1/2 cm creamy tan head with good retention and some spotted lacing. The taste is primarily coffee, but with a touch of anise, and a little late sourness. Mouthfeel is a bit thin for a stout and leaves a chalkiness on the teeth. It’s a fine stout, but not spectacular.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black as an Icelandic winter, ring of head, little lacing. Aroma is primarily coffee, roasty. Taste is licorice, roasty, coffee. Palate is not really dry, it’s kind of slick teeth coating. Finish wants to be sort of bitter, but that seems to be more the roastiness finishing up than any real bittering. Overall, pretty good beer.
