Bottle. Bready aroma. Slightly harsh hop aroma. Clear golden colour. The flavour is quite citric with some sour hop notes. Does not taste very different from a non-alcoholic pils.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ALLOVATE (1719) - Butler, WA, AUSTRALIA - JAN 10, 2007
Vom fass @ Gaffel Kölsch Brauereiausschank, Köln, Germany. Strange to find the N/A beer to be more expensive than their standard Kölsch. Thought twice about buying it, but what the heck, while I’m here I might as well. A mirror on it’s alcoholic brother; Clear, palest gold and quite dull. No visible carbonation though it managed to retain its thin, fluffy white crown. Strange hint of whole-meal bread on the nose, amongst some honey, pears and fresh chopped, spicy herbs. Body is thin, light, and spritzy in feel. Pale malts dominate the front and mid-palate, some herbal hops in back give it a sharpness before an assertively bitter swallow. Not much length, quite crisp in fact. This is the first N/A beer I’ve had to show even the slightest hop character and it pulls it off well. This wasn’t too bad for its style but it goes against the whole Köln Kölsch bier tradition, surely!!!
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Radek Kliber (5308) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - MAY 9, 2006
Pale gold , initial crown disappeared quickly . sweet grainy aroma with typical non-alcoholic nose . clean, crisp factor was weak . Body ,medium thin . quiet malty which was pleasant surprise . palate was soft and clean. Better than most n/a’s .
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 bierkoning (8109) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - FEB 21, 2005
Flowery aroma, but also trces of urine noted. Light hoppy flavor, with also a vegetable-like bitterness and plastic. Watery and a bit worty. Nasty bitter aftertaste. Just about drinkable. Looks like a real Kölsch, that is the only positive thing I can say about this brew.
