3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 crossovert (2547) - Wisconsin, USA - FEB 9, 2011
A soid, drinkable Koelsch. It is a brilliant gold and goes down as easy as ice cold water on a hot summer’s day.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BlackEyePA (222) - USA - FEB 3, 2011
Pretty good. I like this one, although its similar to the rest. Its so hard to differentiate from any of the true Cologne Kolsch beers in Germany. Overall, its crisp, clean, burlappy and hay-with light malt.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Metalchopz (1173) - Quebec, CANADA - JAN 26, 2011
Originally rated May 2010. This German Kölsch pours a clean yellow colour with a big white frothy head, great retention and good lacing. Hoppy nose with some citrus notes and dandelions. Best before date written on the back label is 26.11.10. First sip tasted really grainy, but after that, the hop balances things with also, a touch of honey. Crisp mouthfeel and lightly bodied. Decent Kölsch that is refreshing, until it is kept out a little while, and then becomes a bit boring.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 seritomi (146) - HUNGARY - JAN 22, 2011
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Kriegbaum (616) - Randers, DENMARK - JAN 19, 2011
Flaske 50 cl. Lys gylden hćlde med en stor formfast og langtvarende hvid krone. Aroma mest af humle. Smagen virker sřdelig, med en sprřd og frisk mundfornemmelse. Noget syrlighed mćrkes. Markant humlesmag i afslutningen
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 womencantsail (3572) - Home of Rebecca Black, California, USA - JAN 17, 2011
A: The pour is a clear golden color with a thin white head to go with it.
S: Nose opens with grassy and floral hops. Just a touch of corn, but overall, a pretty crisp and clean malt aroma that’s a slightly bready, but more toward the biscuit side.
T: A solid cracker malt flavor to begin and there’s a bit of bread there as well. Some nice floral hop flavor with a touch of earthiness. There’s a mild fruity sweetness too, such as apples and white grapes. A very mild bitterness to this one.
M: The body is medium with a moderate carbonation.
D: Like a kolsch should be, really crisp and refreshing. Very easy to drink.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DavoleBomb (965) - Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 10, 2011
Poured into a Gaffel Kolsch stange.
3.5 A: Pale orange/yellow. One finger of head that does not retain well though does leave lots of lacing.
3.5 S: Straw predominates, then sweetness and spices. That’s about it.
3.5 T: Straw and grass, some spice, lemon. Bold tastes of grapefruit and very crisp. Big bitterness from hops. Still, recipe could use some work.
3.0 M: A little rough and a tad bit too much carbonation.
3.5 D: Decent taste that isn’t at all boring (though not the best). Problem for drinkability comes from mouthfeel. Smoothen this bitch up.
