Jul 17, 2008 Perfect summertime brew. Light crisp clean. Smells citrusy and grassy. Had it on tap at Teresa’s in Wayne PA. If you like Kolsch beer, this one is not to be missed.

Jul 12, 2008 On tap at the Rotten Apple. Perhaps it is because I had a glass of this only 10 minutes after drinking a pint of Lagunitas Brown Sugga but I could find almost no flavor to this beer. Even my wife, who has trouble with Bud Light (!) agreed. So my description will go as: clear golden body with no head. Quite thin. Almost no flavor or aroma.

Jul 2, 2008 Updated: Aug 10, 200912 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a light pale golden color with a medium head. Average head retention and lacing. Aroma is grass, corn and faint sawdust. Taste is grassy hops with sweet malts and creamed corn. Medium bodied. Refreshing.
My previous rating was from an old bottle from a decrepit "tavern" in Charlottesville. That score was 5/4/5/3/9/2.6. Those numbers do not factor into the updated score.

Jun 30, 2008 Appearance:Pale yellow/golden. Short fizz, then absolutely no head.
Aroma: Bit of hops and fruit. Not much.
Taste: Mix of malt, fruit and hops. Nice, bitter-ish aftertaste. Bit boring, though.

Jun 29, 2008 On tap @ Allen Street Hardware Buffalo. Pours a light golden yellow. Very crisp, clean easy drinking with nice hop bitterness. Nice session beer

Jun 27, 2008 1/2 litre bottle from The Vineyard (Belfast, Ireland) , poured in a Leffe 1/2 pint goblet. Light golden colour, small amount of coarse head, induced with a dribble pour. Aroma is very noticeable, uric and not pleasent to my nose. Light and quenching with a little bitterness towards the end. Slightly metallic, iron-rich in the mouth. Having just enjoyed a St Bernardus Prior 8, this paled in comparison.

Jun 23, 2008 16.9 oz bottle from Sam’s Wine (South Loop, Chicago, IL). Poured a fairly transparent golden hue with a substantial bright white head that dissipates at a moderate rate. Aromas are slightly skunky grain and a light floral sweetness. Taste is similar with an inviting initial taste and a bit of a bitter bite middle that smooths out in the finish. I realize the Kolsch does not travel well, but this was still enjoyable, flavorful, and refreshing. I tasted no adjuncty corn as some raters have indicated.

Jun 20, 2008 Updated: Nov 29, 2008(German) This brew pours a pale golden color with a sm-white dissipating head. Aroma is of grain and corn with a crisp flowery, lite spice, taste. The finish is slightly dry but very drinkable !! Would be very nice on a hot day. Amazing that the kolsch is only brewed in the city of Koln.
