COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The laws protecting the brewing of kolsch are as strict as the German Purity Law of 1516. Kolsch beer can only be brewed within the city of Cologne. As the best-known kolsch brewery, Gaffel’s flavor is derived from an ale yeast that is "lagered" (or aged) in cold cellars. Gaffel is pale, faintly fruity with a crisp, hop finish. Enjoy as an aperitif or digestif.

Draft at Fermentation. Pale straw color with a foamy white head. Aroma of dry pale malts and soapy dishwater. Flavor is similar with a fruity character and ends dry and crisp.

Pale gold color with a thin white head and plenty of bubbles. Light and crisp with grassy notes make this a very enjoyable kolsch. Reminds me of GI Summertime.

A thin head on a clear, golden colored body. The aroma is wonderful: grain, barnyard and lemon. The taste is okay with moderate bitterness followed by a metallic note and mild fruit sweetness. The texture is crisp with a little fizz but still moderate carbonation. Slightly above average but enjoyable.

5 litre barrel. Pours clear golden with a small white head, very sparkly. Chemical stink. Tastes fruity sour with a grassy palate.

Golden and beautifully transparent, this beer pours with a nice 1 inch head in a traditional kölsch glass. Light and spritzy on the palate, flavors are balanced, dominated by breadiness, but a little tinny. not a terribly interesting beer; it’s the more authentic cousin of a Miller or Budweiser. Light, refreshing, and inoffensive. Probably great on a hot day.

Uploading old ratings that were missing comments. Need to re-rate this one as it was pretty flavorless and I've heard such great things. Might have been an off bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
