3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle purchased from a small grocery in Berlin. Very typical Kolsch: strong and rich flavor, relatively subdued. Not much stands out though. Good balance of hops and malt. Moderate bitterness. Not particularly outstanding in any way, but very pleasant and I’d gladly drink again.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
It is a pleasure to have a genuine Cologne-brewed Kolsch on tap in Berlin served in authentic stange glassware. Appears bright golden with a small white head that laces nicely. Delicate fruity aromas with pear, lychee, citrus and grains reflected on the tongue with a lovely soft velvety palate and mild dry hoppy finish. Medium-light bodied with an oily texture and light carbonation. Gorgeous. Very sessionable.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very clear golden, with not a good head retention, very subtle grainy aroma and a little bit of sulfur. Grainy and fruity but subtle in flavor, medium bitterness, It has a medium body. I like the balance in this beer, it tastes almost like a good pils but with a more rounded ale flavor.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a clear honey colour, with a thin wispy head. Aroma notes include apple, pear, dusty, and some tangy esters. Tasting notes include lots of pear, apple, and apricot. Light malts, and a very slight hop presence rounds out this light creamy brew. Very nice beer, and highly drinkable! I can imagine drinking this on some patio in Germany!

Não é uma cerveja ruim mas esperava mais por ser Alemã e uma das mais antigas cervejarias de Colônia. Amargor e leve.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours golden with a one finger cap so plush & so white that it squeaks like cheese curds from Quebec. A really decent Kolsch -- a style I’m starting to dig for hot days or end of session crunching. It’s crisp, with a delicate balance that local brewers have so much trouble mastering. On the down side, I’d opt for a drier approach & there’s a vague metallic presence that makes me wish I could get this fresh. Regardless, it’s a decent brew & better than some of the weaker reviews below mine (more evidence of the anti-German ratebeer bias? Maybe).

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
DATE REVIEWED: August 30, 2014... GLASSWARE: Paulaner pokal... OCCASION: college football begins in earnest....with PSU’s last second win in Ireland!... APPEARANCE: pale, straw-colored body that actively bubbles; sudsy white head simmers but holds at a half-finger; spotty clouds of lacing... AROMA: soft, fruity esters ease the nostrils; some apple, pear and floral scents all suggest a lightly hopped brew.. PALATE: wondrously soft (!), reasonably effervescent mouthfeel; leaves a slightly palatable aftertaste of malt; mega-drinkable... TASTE: slight biscuit is earliest impression; next up, bubblegum and aromatic lilac or currants; biscuit becomes more prominent as the glass drains ...OVERALL: refreshment is the key word here,, as this kolsch slams like a fruity pilsner, with enough bitterness to suggest hopping and enough weight to suggest malt...a nice pairing with a late summer night and its sweltering humidity--a wonderful combination of drinkability and complexity...

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear pale light gold colour. Hay and noble hops aroma with some corn and grass. I find the palate a little bit fruity but sports a fast flavour profile and finishes dry. Other than that, meh, just like the rest of em, totallly forgetful brew.
