COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The laws protecting the brewing of kolsch are as strict as the German Purity Law of 1516. Kolsch beer can only be brewed within the city of Cologne. As the best-known kolsch brewery, Gaffel’s flavor is derived from an ale yeast that is "lagered" (or aged) in cold cellars. Gaffel is pale, faintly fruity with a crisp, hop finish. Enjoy as an aperitif or digestif.

Quite enjoyable beer. Clear golden color with tiny head. Taste is crisp and malty with hints of honey and apple. It has brisk carbonation. It’s very drinkable.

Draft. Light and golden in the glass. Faint grains and lemon aroma. Light and refreshing, a little lemon and yeast that turns into grainy finish. Good for a basic lighter style.

330 bottle poured into Leffe chalice. Golden colour, small head which didn’t hang around long, kept some lacing, clear. Aroma combined Chardonay grape with a really fresh bitter hoppy North German Pils aroma. Tasted Chardonay grape, fruits, had a light sourness. Finsh was bitter. Well carbonated which gave it a coarse edge, body was thick for the fairly light ABV. Had the fell of Pils mixed with Sekt which is what happens in parts of Germany.

Straw color with a slight haze and a bright white head. Aromas of grain and grass with a touch of black pepper. Slight malt sweetness, toast, and lemon in the flavor profile. Light body, effervescent, and a clean crisp finish.

Pours golden with little head which quickly disapears. A hoppy and crisp taste with a hoppy yet uninviting aroma. Refreshing if chilled, overall average.

Bottle. Gold pour. White head. Aroma right after pour was sweet, slightly fruity and very pleasant. After that the aroma was like that of a typical lager. Taste up front was slightly sweet. Finish is dry and a little bitter. I enjoyed this beer. It has a nice light flavor. It would work well as a session beer.
